This is the new game the right wants to play. If the pneumonia which Covid19 causes kills you, they want your death certificate to say you died of pneumonia, not Covid19. If you have an underlying condition and the stress on your body from Covid19 triggers a heart attack, they want the death certificate to say "heart attack", even though neither death would have occurred without the Covid19 which triggered them.
Since there are unlikely to be autopsies on these folks to determine which underlying condition lead to their deaths, we won't know the precise cause of death. And since most of the people who die have underlying conditions in the first place, which left them vulnerable to covid19, it's a chicken and egg thing.
Trump wants to lower the number of deaths from Covid19 so his death numbers don't look so bad.
This sounds a bit too convenient for Democrat election purposes to be be taken too seriously. You say "they want the death certificate to say", but you're not telling us what the death certificate does say. Most people would surmise that if someone dies, the first thing to be looked at is a Covid test. If it's positive, that;s likely to be mentioned on the death certificate , and then counted in the numbers of Covid deaths.
I'm just speculating, but then so were you. Difference is, I'm not calling anyone a liar.
When every indicator is that covid19 deaths are being UNDERCOUNTED, due to people dying at home and not even going in for a test, and then someone comes along and tries to claim the opposite, that's trying to manipulate the data. The reasons for reducing the number of deaths is purely political, that's lying.
Trump wants the deaths undercounted. He's always fears the numbers - cases and deaths make HIM look bad. He's also partisanized the virus from day one and it's hampering the efforts to stop the virus. He attacks Democratic governors - especially the women, like the governnor of Michigan.
Republican governors, like Ron DeSantis, have refused to issue mask mandates because Donald Trump won't wear a mask. The idiot governor of Georgia is suing the Mayor of Atlanta for issuing a mask mandate for her city.
6 months after the virus reached New York, there is NO EXCUSE for what's happening in Florida, Texas or Arizona. California isn't running out of PPE's, their hospitals aren't over-run as their cases spike, and they've walked back many of their re-opening strategies.
Texas, Florida and Arizona SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. These people learning NOTHING, from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. They didn't use the time to prepare, to stockpile PPE's, and they full on re-opened as if the disease wasn't happening at all.
You've partisanized EVERYTHING, and the virus is not partisan. The virus doesn't care about the election, and it doesn't differentiate between red states and blue states. It looks for careless people to let it in, to go out and hang out in close proximity with others.
My province has a Conservative government. The federal government is Liberal. The moment the virus hit, partisan politics were done. Ontario Premier Doug Ford actually PRAISED the assistance he received from the federal Minister of Health. 7 of the provinces currently have Conservative governments. And yet we're all Canadians and everyone worked TOGETHER to save lives.
We had our first case of Covid19 the same day you did. We had 4 deaths yesterday - in the entire country. More than 95% of our cases are "closed". We have 5,000 active cases in the entire country. Our death rate per thousand is more than 1/3 less than the USA. That's the death rate that Trump touts as being "better than Europe's".
