The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in recent months stopped publication of studies about the safety of COVID-19 and shingles vaccines, a spokesperson for the Department of Health and Human Services confirmed.
“The studies were withdrawn because the authors drew broad conclusions that were not supported by the underlying data,” spokesperson Andrew Nixon said. “The FDA acted to protect the integrity of its scientific process and ensure that any work associated with the agency meets its high standards.”
The New York Times first reported Tuesday that two COVID vaccine papers and abstracts of studies on a shingles vaccine were blocked by FDA officials.
