Biden to cancel the Keystone pipeline via executive action on 1st day, Trudeau already complaining, conservatives like Ann Coulter already pouncing!

Keystone XL would divert Canadian oil from refineries in the Midwest to the Gulf Coast where it can be refined and exported. Many of these refineries are in free trade zones where oil may be exported to international buyers without paying U.S. taxes.

LMAO they still provided 11,000 jobs for Americans which Biden kicked in the teeth.

I'd bet most will be hating that jack ass once his other EO's kick in. That's your boy. dumbass.

11,000 jobs for 2 years. How many thousands of jobs will the pipeline cost for truckers, rail workers, mechanics, truck stop workers, restaurants ect ect?

I agree. Many will suffer because that jack as is, a jack ass.

Actually, the jackass halting construction on the pipeline saved the jobs of truckers, rail workers, mechanics, truck stop workers, restaurants ect ect.

How did he save jobs by getting 11,000 people shit canned?

Lets not forget he doesn't want drilling on Fed lands, more lost jobs and and end to fracking. More lost jobs.

Those 11,000 and all the others that will lose their jobs. spend money at truck stops, restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores and many other places. Those guys and gals losing those jobs won't be good for a lot of businesses where they live.

The 11,000 jobs were going to be done after 2 years. Once the pipeline was completely, fewer than 100 people would be employed to maintain it.

The Canadian Tar Sands oil was being drilled before the pipeline was started. And that oil was shipped to the Gulf via truck and rail. Thousands of truckers and rail workers had jobs transporting it. And all those other workers had jobs because they did.

Not for long. Biden is on a green kick so fossil fuels will be out. There will be thousands unemployed.

LOLOL.. Remember when crude oil replaced whale oil?

Nope. Not old enough and neither are you. Biden is on that green kick so fossil fuel will be out as soon as that jack ass can swing it.

kill jobs and raise energy prices. FOR WHAT?

Reminds me of one that went around a while back referencing how the first year in office changes the appearance of a President. This image is what Biden will look like after a year in office, if he survives that long. Of course, there seems to be no good reason to be rid of him as long as he is still able to sign documents, even if and especially if he doesn't know what he is signing, which he recently admitted on his first day in the Oval Office.

I was there in the 70's with lines miles long at every gas station. There was no oil shortage. It was just a way to get the cost of gas up from 19 cents a gallon to what we have today. Not a fun time,

Killed jobs? The pipeline would create around 2,000 jobs for 2 years. After that it will be manned by around 35 workers. All to move oil to the Gulf to be shipped to China. American refineries don't want the sludge oil as long as they have regular crude to refine.

Before the pipeline the oil was being shipped via truck and rail. How many truckers, truck stop workers, mechanics, restaurant workers ect were put out of work by the pipeline? Far more than the 35 permanent workers the pipeline will employ.

The pipeline was not about creating jobs at all. It was about lowering the costs for the oil companies.

The last time I was involved in a Pipeline Construction (the supply end) it was the same crew that would build and then move further down the line and build connecting pipes until the job was completed. Those 2000 jobs are fantasy. The Pipeline Builders won't be from the local community and when that section of pipe is completed, they move on. Most of their wages don't stay in the community. It's sent to their home bases for their families. And MOST of the workers will be married.

Each time, there will be a small boost in a local economy for just a short period of time. When the workers move on down the line, those local service jobs disappear and reappear at the next location. Any community basing their economy on the building of the pipeline will end up in serious trouble. They will go from boom to bust very quickly.

The Pipeline benefits Canada Government and the Koch Brothers (Industries) and other investors. Any US Politician that is touting this fantasy about how many jobs and the economic boon is getting money from the Koch Industries (Brothers).

No. We must never scream about costing people their jobs, when the project they were working on was going to cost thousands of people their jobs. Plus it is a matter of temporary jobs or permanent jobs.

If you want to talk safety, that is fine. But so far the screaming has been about jobs.

Oh, as as far as safety goes, in the 10 years the current Keystone Pipeline has been operating, there have been 14 spills, including one that dumped 407,000 gals of sludgy tar sands crude on farmland.

“…conservatives like Ann Coulter already pouncing”

…with lies, baseless demagoguery, and fearmongering – like killing jobs and raising energy prices.

baseless? We just saw him do it. Biden has acted exactly as I expected, and he's already damaged the US in his first week.

Domestic oil companies (and the jobs) benefit if there is no Keystone pipeline.

Everyone in the universe is a ...well, maybe not the entire universe...

So lets just think through that logically..... Domestic oil companies will benefit if there is no Keystone Pipeline.

A: You realize there is already a Keystone Pipeline?
B: You realize that all the Domestic oil companies were supporting the Keystone XL pipeline? Are you suggesting that domestic oil companies were actively supporting something, that would harm them?
C: You realize that if they can't transport oil through the US, to oil refineries, that companies will find someone else to send the oil to?

Canadian oil producers are going to ship the oil somewhere, where it will be refined. If they can't get it to US oil refineries, then they'll move it elsewhere. How does that create US jobs and benefit the US economy?

China is actively trying to position itself as the largest refiner of oil. What happens if Canada runs a pipeline to the coast, and starts shipping to China?

Biden may have accidentally directly helped China, by opening the door to Canadian shale oil.

Two guys driving a train of oil tankers, is not "costing thousands of people their jobs".

There was a huge demand for this pipeline for a reason. By canceling this project, I promise you all the companies in Canada that are producing the oil that these pipelines were needed for, are now looking at alternatives.

If they didn't need the Keystone XL, they would not have funded it to begin with.

So what happens when they start shipping it to the coast, putting it on tankers, and sending it to China?

How many temporary or permanent jobs will be 'saved' then?

China is actively looking to try and take over the oil refining market, and this action by Biden may have been the exact opening they needed. China would likely fund a pipeline to the coast entirely, just to get their stab into the north American market.

Canceling this pipeline was a terrible terrible move. I would say, that unless this is fixed, and quickly... I think we will see some bad long term effects from this bad executive order.

You know the pipeline will also carry Bakken oil, right?
Cheaper transportation means more US oil jobs and profits.

How does that compare to train spills over the last 10 years?
