Average teachers pay vs average pay.

For a 200 day contract.

Or teachers start in the low 50K’s.

We have a handful that break 100k after 30-35 years.

Why always through out those at the top? Makes the number scarier doesn’t it.

Starting in the low 50s is good - especially with most of the summer off.

Yes, as I just said. The horrid behaviors and parental madness have made it not worth doing anymore
So quit. Eventually will will cause demand for teachers to go up forcing higher pay.

Kids today are a different breed. Think they are owed something. If they are Americas future id say this nation is screwed.

Most construction now is by illegals with fake names. Not OUR KIDS.

Where are they? They arent showing up.

I don't care anymore if it's professional or unprofessional. When you begin getting physically assaulted at your job--I have been hit, bitten, kicked, shoved and had things thrown at me--and asked what I did to provoke the child, THEN you can tell me about unprofessional.
I said bringing up that you had to attend a concert and didn’t get paid for it is unprofessional.

And your complaint about the violent kid has nothing to do with pay. That’s the state of public schools. Plenty of teachers decide to go into private schools even though the money is lower because the kids are decently behaved.

SO ITS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY.

Oh trust me, we are screwed.

God willing, next year is retirement year. People will say, well yeah, you're burnt out. Well, I see two year teachers more burnt out than I am. People are quitting my very good district in the middle of the year, which used to be unheard of.

PS your liberal card just got canceled for these posts.
Why?

I am just talking fair pay and I think Teachers making less than other college graduates is fair based on the number of days they are required to work a year.

I will even give them a pass for working a 6 hour day vs a 9 hour day

Maybe once we dump the leftist Board of Education, things will start to improve.

I mean, I didn't start this thread about teacher pay. Like anyone with sense, teachers want to get paid for what they do/endure.

I do not make enough money to be hit, kicked, bitten, shoved, and had things thrown at me. When this happens to cops, the perp gets increased charges. When it happens in school, TEACHERS get in trouble.

Good gravy I can only hope, for those behind me in years and experiences.

We MUST tackle special ed, no pun intended.

But that's a whole kettle of fish

My sisters said the same. Crazy world.

Few weeks ago a young 20 year old punk on our job was told by his Forman to only carry one battery for UPS at a time. He picked up 2. Forman tapped his hard hat said I told you to only carry one.

The kid tried to file assault charges over a light tap on a hard hat and stetn words do as your told.

We live in a different world now.

The grass aint grerner on the other side.

Thats just what you believe which aint the truth. This stupidity exists in the trades.

Oh and yes, they don't show up because they need a mental health day, or they're "dysregulated", or they have "anxiety"

It's bad out there. Really scary bad.

Product of a dying nation.

Hard times make strong men.
Strong men make good times.
Good times make weak mean.
Weak men make hard times.

Everyone, he is an HR director in a school district. So, knows what he's talking about.

I do not get paid enough to call home because a student physically assaulted me only to be told he was "dysregulated". And on and on.

And I know you're seeing this too. Our HR dept used to be wading through the hundreds of resumes they rec'd for every open teaching position. Now, the HR director must go out and grab teachers right after college.

The D team will suck for society. But we have certainly earned the D team.

Clarification, I’m an HRIS Administrator ( Human Resources information Systems) not a Director.

Basically I’m the department computer and data geek.

Carry on.

Good is a relative term.

When looking at data you deal in quantitative terms.

Now reduce a teachers salary to a per diem rate and compare that to other licensed professionals with bachelor degrees and for those with masters degrees.

You reduce it to a per diem rate to remove the 200 day contract variable with those working 240-260 days per year.

Why do Red States elect leftist boards of education?
Leftist tend to want to be teachers. So they can push agendas on kids.

So they tend to fill more spots than conservatives.

So yes we need to replace them. Good point

oh, you mean the major expense of public ed , most of which the mental health community is capitalizing on via their 'diagnostic' expertise Sue?

yeah, they need to be thrown in the closest volcano......~S~

Do you have a link to support that data? The forum rules require it when making statements of fact.
I'll let this thread stay open a little while so you can post links.
I can post links in a little while.

Yes. Some kids have valid issues we need to address. Many students are funneled into gen ed classrooms and have NO business being there.
