A new national poll is the latest to indicate that Democrats are facing major problems with their party's image as they try to win back congressional majorities from the Republicans in this year's midterm elections.

Just 28% of Americans questioned in a CNN poll view the Democratic Party positively, with 56% seeing Democrats in an unfavorable light

Unfortunately people in general have a tendency to hang on to the past even though the past is presently is going down the tube. One must remember that the field of politics is every bit as emotionally charged as it is logically charged. The "It Worked Before So It Must Still Be Able To work For Us Today" type of mindset is very ingrained into folks minds. No where is the emotionally charged left more rabid than when it comes to the "My Team" mentality. I would not pin my hopes on "change" regarding the left as they have been 'conditioned' to follow their leader.
