Are you ashamed of your heritage?

Good God!
How can you defend that?

it was blacks being killed, blacks being beaten, black houses and businesses being burned down

And you blame the blacks?

WTF is the matter with you?
So you rightly bemoan what happened in Tulsa, yet celebrate Lincoln’s War which destroyed much of the Southern states and caused 850,000 deaths.

You’re terribly confused.

My advice: never believe the establishment narrative on any major historical event. As old as you are, it’s surprising you don’t know this my son.

Sorry Skippy

But the South’s affection for the institution of slavery caused the war.

Lincoln saved our union
Our greatest President

Nope.
There would not have been a war because Fremont would not have allowed the southern states to build a strong coalition, would not have given them money to build an army (Buchanan did, and knew he was doing it) The south would have never started a war because they did not have the means to fight it without Northern money.
What would have happened is either Fremont in a 2nd term, or Lincoln would have banned slavery. The south would have tried some kind of protest, but without an army - they could have done nothing.
Instead it was the North that was unprepared and the South could have won if not for the norths superior industry and larger population.
There is another possibility. The South might have won had they employed gorilla tactics throughout the war and avoided major engagements. Much like General Jackson did successfully during his Shenandoah Valley campaign. Nathan Bedford Forrest had similar success using hit and run tactics in the western theater.

This likely would have prolonged the war, but made success more likely.

It could be Lee’s early success clouded his judgment. What he tried to accomplish at Gettysburg is beyond absurd. Then continued to fight major engagements when it was obvious the South was outgunned and outmanned.

lol. Once again, you’ve learned nothing these many years we’ve debated the War of Northern Aggression.

You refuse to admit Lincoln was fine with slavery. He said he’d ensconce it in constitution in his inaugural address, as long as the South paid the tariffs.

You’re stuck in sixth grade history class. Never to learn the truth.

Stalin saved the Union too. No doubt you love him too.

Unlike you, I have not embraced lost cause revisionist history

I think if you look at the three presidents before Lincoln and the three presidents after (except for Grant) you would have hands off, weak executives who would have just let the South secede.

But Lincoln thought our nation was worth fighting for.
He turned a bunch of states that were united into……THE UNITED STATES

lol. No you’ve embraced tyranny and stupidity…but too dumb to know it.

Stalin loved his union like Lincoln. Do you support Stalin too? C’mon skippy. Answer the question.

What I know is my family landed in Virginia and immediately got a land grant in North Carolina. My great x5 grandfather had 6 sons, 5 of which joined and fought in the Revolutionary war.... I am a DAR, Daughter of the American Revolution.

These men were given land grants in Georgia as pay for serving....so, most but not all of my family wagon trained there and became Georgians and then 3/4s of them moved on to Alabama and Texas....the Alabamians and Georgian family were DRAFTED in to the Confederate Army and served in the civil war....the same family that served in the Revolutionary War.

When the war was over, their grayback dollar was worth nothing and they lost near everything and had to start from rock bottom, again.

Since you keep bringing it up, I think Stalin saved his country from the invading Nazis.

As bad as the USSR was, it was better than being ruled by the NAZIS

On my fathers side, similar story. Also landed in Virginia. Became farmers in Virginia, but did not have slaves. They fought for the south. Decimated by the civil war, and moved north to Kentucky.
My mothers side landed in NY. Went to PA for a couple generations and moved to the once growing, dynamic state - Indiana.

My ancestors on my father’s side, landed in Boston on Good Friday just prior to the events at Lexington and Concord. They settled in eastern Tennessee near Telico Plans. The first American family had ten sons who all married and had a multitude of children. In a matter of a few years my family name was everywhere in that area. I’ve been to the cemeteries.

Many fought for the North in Lincoln’s War, as they were devoted abolitionists. One died outside Atlanta at the ripe old age of 19, we suspect fighting for Sherman’s horrific march to the sea.

I am related to a very famous person, he is my first cousin, twice removed.
If I said my last name, and asked "who is the most famous person you know that also has that name" - everyone would say him. Virtually everyone in America knows who he is.

The Missouri Compromise was an attempt to placate the South as they saw their political power eroding as free states were added to the nation.

And I notice you completely ignore the challenge to your lie that Slavery was being extended to the West.

This is very common with you I see. Somebody proves what you say is wrong, and you simply ignore it and try to attack yet again.

And you must be ecstatic that you have completely derailed the thread into your typical pontificating.

Slave states were being added
That is what the Missouri Compromise did

But the tide was changing and more free states were joining or about to join

The South had excess voting power because of the 3/5 compromise on counting slaves. That was no longer enough

And your solution like Dishonest Abe’s, is kill them to keep them. Like every tyrant throughout history.

Actually Abe advocated for reconciliation instead of revenge

And yet he committed mass murder.

He did no such thing

The south chose to secede and attacked a U.S. installation to start the war.

Lincoln saved the union and created THE UNITED STATES
