For home defense ??

I am not into pistols
I need a weapon as follows
1)very accurate and easy to shoot
2) it cannot penetrate walls and harm neighbors
3) very rarely Jams and super easy to clean
4) very low maintenance
5) not too much kick
6) can take out several “ pests “
I fired a .40 and it was a disaster. Too much kick
I read the 9 mm Has weak stopping power
I did ok on a super heavy revolver of .38

Undoubtedly, one of the ultimate home defense weapons is the Remington 870 shotgun. Supremely reliable, you can load it with #8 birdshot for the first 1 oe 2 shells, just to show authorities you tried, then all the rest with 00 buck. Take no prisoners.
I was thinking semi-auto 20 gauge. Now, I am not familiar with those. Not sure about reliability.
(feeding, etc..)
Let's face it, 20 gauge is for pussies and women. If you want to be sure to stop someone, you want a 12 guage. You can always load it with something lighter than 00 buck or as a warning shot to chase away the intruder to placate local authorities. You get hit even with #4 or $8, you will definitely know it.
I like the idea of a semi auto especially in a bull pup, you just gotta be willing to be sure to get yourself one proven to be reliable.
And of course, one should ALWAYS carry a sidearm and a good knife for backup. Chance favors the prepared. Plan for success.
