Plant based foods were just another food fad.

There used to be a vegan-friendly all organic health food restaurant near me. I think it was called The Good Earth or something like that. I went there every chance I had when I was in the area. I really liked the food. I think they baked their own whole grain natural bread and stuff used for sandwiches, etc.

A few years ago I went by and looked for the place. Yep, you guess it: Out of business. Boarded up. Gone.

No, it's not about the language. It's about continuing to say something false on purpose after I already told you 3 times that it's false. Why? My guess is because you hate vegans....and instead of presenting actual arguments, all you can do is make it personal.

If your God didn't intend for them to be eaten he wouldn't have made them taste so good.

Put another way, nature generally makes stuff edible appealing in taste to us.

So why would he make cows so tasty to us if he didn't intend for us to eat them?

After all, 30,000 years ago, there were bison and mammoths and mastodons to munch on, but last I checked, there were no big supermarkets full of mung bean sprouts.

It has been said that human flesh tastes like pork. So....if that's true, that pretty much defeats the idea that animal flesh is supposed to be eaten. haha

Besides... I think MOST people season the flesh they eat... with plantbased seasonings.

I see a primate. Mankind is a primate. Take a look at a chimpanzee. We share about 97-98% genetic material. Their teeth look an awful lot like mine. And guess what, they're omnivores too.

The point being that many of these animals have fangs not for hunting and eating but for defense and fighting. Mankind gave those up (like he gave up a woolly coat of hair even though he still needed to keep warm) in lieu of his tool-making weapon-making skills.

Kinda hard to catch a Mastodon by going up and biting it.

Well... I know that this is probably not what you or anyone wants to hear... but since you brought up that scenario... the way I see it is, if we wouldn't want to be prey for some other creature, then we shouldn't prey upon those who are at our mercy.

Well, to be sure, the Bible is not a literal text. In 1400 BC roughly when someone composed the book Genesis, they did not literally mean the universe took six of our days, they mean six time units of an indeterminate length. At that time, the world did not even have a uniform calendar to go by to even agree on the dates.

That said, does the Bible not say we are given dominion over all creatures on the Earth, and is it not replete with stories of sacrificing lambs, goats and other things? Not that it matters. It is no skin off my nose how or what you eat.

Dominion in the image of God meant taking care of the animals.....

Some would tell you they take care of the deer and other animals by culling their excess, so that those that remain don't starve in the winter.

I didn't post this thread. Someone else did. I did respond to it though, and that's what stirred up this hornet's nest.

And I actually have no problem at all debating anyone who wants to debate. Until they continually show that they are incapable of being cool and having an actual discussion.

You and I got into a little spat earlier on this thread... when you got annoyed that I didn't debate you at that time (because it was in the middle of the afternoon and I had IRL stuff to do).... but later you chilled and we were able to have a discussion. Same with a few others on this thread. But not that guy.
