Sorry, the first time I shot a gun I was about five. Of course, my father sighted it and let me pull the trigger, thus throwing off his aim. What clue am I supposed to have, regardless of what type of body I have? The War of 1812 has been over for quite some time now, and the last "British Invasion" was carried out by people carrying guitars, which were not loaded.

What else would we need arms for except for home invasions and hold-ups? On two sides we've got nothing but ocean. The Canadians never seemed to pose much of a threat. Those from the south haven't posed any violent threat since the Europeans living in Texas fought against the Mexican government, which had allowed them to be there in the first place. Accept for stealth like the trump/Russia crew infiltrating our government institutions and radical Islamist and radical white-supremacist terrorist moles, the only thing that realistically will come at us will be from the air, most likely missiles. Military weapons should be left to the police, if they actually need them as they did in California when they had to shot it out with bank robbers in bullet-proof gear, and to the National Guard.

Average citizens have no need for military firepower.

It's called the bill of RIGHTS, not the bill of NEEDS. If you're arrested you really don't NEED a lawyer, you can always represent yourself, but the bill of RIGHTS guarantees you the RIGHT to have one.

Also people who are educated on the subject knows the AR platform was being sold to civilians a full 5 years before the US military adopted an upgraded, select fire version for general use. Civilian versions are not produced to military specifications. The AR platform is nothing but a utility rifle, I bought mine to dissuade wild hogs form tearing up my property. You don't like it tough shit.

A: Not scary looking (although a near identical but miniaturized replica of a weapon actually used in war, today, by our military, and has the same firepower function)

B: Scary looking (although never actually used in war, but is a cosmetic replica of a weapon used by our military, but WITHOUT the same firepower function)

In other words, both are "weapons of war" but one is scary looking.
