Ending fossil fuels is a good goal. They are expensive to use and their use has created a major problem. It cannot be done overnight, but we could be much further along with that were it not for the whackadoodles among use who believe in voodoo rather than science.

Sure, when its time comes! When the auto came along, no one needed the government to mandate for people to quit riding horses, or build gas stations, or pave highways, they did all of this because of natural market forces.

The same way, while fossil fuels will never entirely go away, they are needed in literally THOUSANDS of products, their use will decline when it becomes natural for it to decline, not sooner.

Meanwhile, that electricity represents work done, work that would have been done anyway, with the sun and the ground or something, which has simply been diverted from its original path to doing work that humans can use for themselves instead.

Now that is a dumb statement. If the oil, natural gas, or coal is used in a product, it is not burned, and is not a fossil fuel. The atmospheric burning of fossil fuels is what is causing the problems. Now we have a President that is making it natural for the use of fossil fuels for transportation to decline. Gas goes up another dollar a gallon and you are going to see a very large increase in the purchase of EV's.

If the oil, natural gas, or coal is used in a product, it is not burned, and is not a fossil fuel.

So when oil is burned in the product of gasoline, it is not burned and does not contribute to climate change? Hey, YOU JUST SAID IT. All fossil products from oil to gas to coal are ALL burned to release their energy and all burnable products are combusted in the atmosphere one way or the other. So, in one fell swoop, you have just denied all claims against fossil fuels!

The atmospheric burning of fossil fuels is what is causing the problems.

Do you know any which are not burned and released atmospherically? Nope.

Gas goes up another dollar a gallon and you are going to see a very large increase in the purchase of EV's.

And yet (not only is that wrong), here you are complaining about oil prices. Yep, soon as gas goes to $5.00/gallon, I'm going to spend $80,000 on an EV instead of just an extra buck at the pump. Sheesh. Funny that no one did that just a few years ago when Joe had gas up to $8.00/gallon all year.
