But good for AmericaThat’s bad.
I think this will end up with countries lowering their tariffs on us, but not an explosion of new manufacturing here. I heard Trump use the word "trillions" to describe the manufacturing that's coming, and that's fantasy. Plus it takes years to build one (1) plant. For poorer countries, you take away all tariffs and it might destroy some of their key industries.
The problem here is that Trump doesn't care if a country is poor or not, he wants to screw it over no matter what. He wants to "win", even if the winning causes more problems than it solves.
Literally the US is benefiting from poorer people making goods at a low cost and then shipping them to the US where they're bought by Americans for a low price. The US puts tariffs on such things, it's going to cause Americans problems.
It has a trade surplus because things are so cheap. Then Trump sees this as a problem. Why is buying cheap things from people bad for the US? It makes no sense.
My criticism of the trump tariffs is that he should have concentrated on china only and not imposed tariffs on US alliesI think this will end up with countries lowering their tariffs on us, but not an explosion of new manufacturing here. I heard Trump use the word "trillions" to describe the manufacturing that's coming, and that's fantasy. Plus it takes years to build one (1) plant.
Then he'll call it the greatest win ever. All of this fucking noise and carnage for agreements that could have been made peacefully and intelligently behind closed doors. But Trump doesn't know "peacefully" or "intelligently".
So this is NOT about bringing the manufacturing back to America? Not about good jobs being brought back? All these countries are going to fold. They need us to buy their stuff more than we need theirs.
There's no way to know if Trump and Lutnick really think this is going to turn America back into a manufacturing leader. It can't be done, outside of completely isolating us from the rest of the world economy, and that would lead to inflation we've never seen.So this is NOT about bringing the manufacturing back to America? Not about good jobs being brought back?
So....me and my future livelihood, and my retirement was just used, abused, and put in peril by Trump, so he could get some deal with a tiny little Vietnam, and not to Make America Great Again with good jobs etc?
How is importing cheap goods from Vietnam good for America? I thought that was the whole point. But good for America
they have been for awhile now, china got so big and rich thanks to us their wages have gone up to where now intel chips are made in Vietnam, shoes and cloths too and likely more in the future.Vietnam is poised the be the next asian economic tiger and can take a lot of exports to America away from china

Fact. They will bend the knee. The time of pretending we are equal partners is over. All these countries are going to fold. They need us to buy their stuff more than we need theirs.
So... It's probably going to work. But you don't like the way he's doing it because it hurts your feelings... Christ...I think this will end up with countries lowering their tariffs on us, but not an explosion of new manufacturing here. I can believe that that's your perception of what I said.So... It's probably going to work. But you don't like the way he's doing it because it hurts your feelings... Christ...
It removes production from china and hurts the CCPHow is importing cheap goods from Vietnam good for America? I thought that was the whole point.
you say dick, he says confidence and yes he will swing a bigger dick than other countries and they will get in line, we have the best products and the best free economy, want a slice.......play ball our wayYeah, he's a guy who likes to show everyone who's boss and then walks around like an arrogant F*ck because he did by being the biggest dick in the room.
Yes, he could have done this much more quietly, but that's not who Trump is. He has to be the dick.
Trump wants that production here. He can’t remove the tariff. It removes production from china and hurts the CCP
I wager he won't. Tariffs are not really the point. And my guess is Trump will agree. But Vietnam, so far, is the only one.
Yeah, Chump is an infamous stickler for detail.Gotta wait for the paperwork.
Chump wants the US to take over Vietnam's garment trade.Trump wants that production here. He can’t remove the tariff.
If Chump can't personally impose tariffs, Chump can't sell American importers exemptions from them.I wager he won't. Tariffs are not really the point.
Having personal power is Chump's point, he won't give that away by settling trade disputes he's provoked.
