The accounting firm that prepared former President Trump’s annual financial statements says the documents, used to secure lucrative loans and burnish Trump’s image as a wealthy businessman, “should no longer be relied upon” after New York’s attorney general said they regularly misstated the value of assets.

In a letter to the Trump Organization’s lawyer Feb. 9, Mazars USA LLP advised the company to inform anyone who had gotten the documents not to use them when assessing the financial health of the company and the ex-president. The firm also said it was cutting ties with Trump, its highest-profile client.

Mazars’ letter, made public in a court filing Monday, came just weeks after New York Atty. Gen. Letitia James said her civil investigation uncovered evidence that Trump and his company used “fraudulent or misleading” valuations of its golf clubs, skyscrapers and other properties to get loans and tax benefits.

I worked in big money construction in Toronto for 30 years, and I have watched Donald Trump's career in construction, and been disgusted by his behaviour. The trail of economic destruction this man has left in his wake, knows no equal in American business history.

In big money construction, 15% of the invoices for work done, is held back until the project is certified by the Artchitect and the Municipality. This 15% is, in essence, the contractor's gross profit. The contractor has to pay for all of his labour and materials throughout the contruction period, but his operating costs are on his nickel until the project is certified.

These smaller contractors spend two years borrowing from the banks, and stalling their suppliers on their operating expenses, and then when they present their holdback invoice, Trump offers them 25 cents on the $1 that's owed. And then they spend 2 years in litigation trying to collect, while their bills continue to go unpaid.

Trump's excuses that their work was subpar are bullshit. The project was certified by the Architect and the municipality. The time to talk about workmanship was while the project was underway.

Anyone can google all of this stuff and see it happening over and over again. 60 Minutes did a report on this in the early 2000's - after his 4th bankruptcy in Atlantic City.

In the fall of 2013, the small business got a big job. A subcontractor on the $200 million remodeling of the Trump National Doral golf resort ordered $142,000 worth of paint from Enriquez.

Enriquez never got a final payment of about $32,000.

In the fall of 2014, Enriquez filed a lien, a legal tool used to recover a debt by tying up a piece of property. He said he offered to settle the matter for $26,000 but the Trump team balked — not surprising since Trump has repeatedly boasted that he never settles.

A Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge didn't buy the Trump defense, ruling in the spring of 2016 that the resort had to pay for the paint. Then the judge tacked on a multiplier to compensate Enriquez's lawyer, Daniel Vega, for taking the case on contingency, swelling the award by $283,949.91 in legal fees.

On April 12, Enriquez's lawyer called with the good news: the appeals court upheld the judge's order. The attorney who handled the case for Trump, Bruce Rogow, told NBC News there would be no further appeals.

That is not what he said. If you actually look at the reporting in context of what FPOTUS#45 was trying to do on the stand, it is apparent the Judge was talking about not paying attention to FPOTUS#45's victimhood and politics rants since they are not germane to the questions being asked.

There is no correct way to respond to the State stealing your wealth because an accountant put an arbitrary number on a loan application where the loan was repaid in full and there were no victims. It is also provable that the State has no clue what real property values are at any given time. Further, that the stipulation was that the lender was responsible to verify all numbers as part of their fiduciary responsibility.

There is no fucking way that Trump should have his wealth stolen by NY courts because they don't like his politics.
