I've been watching what is going on in Belfast....
I'm not a fan of the IRA, Catholics, Protestants or the Nationalists or Unionists....I just like the people.

But then I see the threads on this forum. The obvious Democrats with their obnoxious over the top false accusations....I dont want to even engage with them anymore. The chances of having a real discussion of ideas? Zero. They just want to throw stupid empty rhetoric as if that's going to convince everyone of anything....they have zero concept of how to discuss ideas, solutions, or unintended consequences with anyone....they are just in a team sport.

But I definitely do understand the Irish's frustration with their Government.....
We have had the exact same frustration with ours.

Our votes are meaningless exercises anymore.
The candidates say one thing but then do another....the exact thing we were voting against to begin with.

Now we have this joke of an election in California....so obviously overwhelmingly phoney that we wonder why even bother anymore.

In Georgia....the candidates say that one is Republican and the other Democrat....but in truth they are both Democrats because a true conservative will never make it to a primary....

Why bother?
Why trouble yourself?
Is the ONLY solution left the same as Belfast across the entire nation until we get the integrity restored?

Almost....and that's where the Left and Right absolutely have ridiculous feelings about Trump.
Right, wrong, or indifferent, he keeps his word like no one in recent memory. Goes to extreme lengths to pull off what he said he was going to do. That's it.....that's the whole nut if appeal to MAGA....
Trump maybe using a chainsaw in areas a scalpel would be better suited....but at this point? Nobody cares. The people are getting exactly what they voted for.

When people get tired of being tired....Belfast happens....just saying....it can just as easily happen in the USA by the Right....and if it does its gonna be ugly, brutal and insanely efficient.

Is it time to burn it all down?

Almost?

We don't need to burn anything down. We need to fix a system that motivates and rewards the worst impulses of its participants.

We need to reduce the influence of cash. We need to deny these people decades of opportunities to build impenetrable power bases. We need to have a voting system that is not imbalanced. We need to re-direct the priorities of "public servants" (ha) to the people, not the politicians' long term careers.

So, for example:
  • Short, strict term limits
  • Publicly-funded elections
  • Bipartisan redistricting committees
  • Full lobbyist reform
  • Ranked choice voting
Or maybe something else. Maybe we can come up with other ideas. But if we're serious, we grow up and work together to fix this mess. Those who only want division and carnage can take up other hobbies. Otherwise we won't have a chance to burn ANYTHING down. It will happen by itself, and it will be ugly.

Wait now, you are upset the Reality TV star didn't get more votes than the two seasoned politicians?

Is it time to burn it all down?
Isn't that what you are already doing?

We have term limits. They are called Elections.
No, I don't want Welfare Politicians. Limiting campaign donations would be fine, though.
And, no, we don't need Ranked Clusterf--k Voting.

Whitmer became intoxicated before a football game, leading her to pass out and vomit on the school principal, Bert Bleke.

😂😂😂🤮🤮🤮

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the SBC....particularly the committees they have. Those have strict term limits and are generally speaking done by pastors of churches. (Meaning they all have full time jobs and only doing this part time)
The biggest issue these committees face is incompetence. The pastors are not unintelligent dolts....not even in the slightest. In fact most are a cut above in intelligence.
And it's not a lack of focus either. These guys focus well and understand what is in front of them....
But there is the real problem....if it's not in front of them they know nothing about it.

A couple years back they got in trouble due to this exact thing. The SBC committee directed their retained law firm to record public published names(from news reports or court records) of those in SBC churches convicted and/or arrested for child sexual assault.
Then since the legal team never had a reason to bring it back up...everyone except the clerk doing the work kinda forgot about it being done...until someone had an axe to grind and claimed it was a "secret list" that the SBC wasn't sharing.....the committee responsible had zero clue due to rotating members coming and going and none were aware there was a list ever created or commissioned.

That's what term limits will do for you.

I can understand that. Probably the biggest drawback of term limits is structural continuity, so there is no silver bullet.

What I look at is the fact that, while the overall ratings of Congress are historically low, 95% of incumbents won their elections in 2024. That's absolutely absurd, and it demonstrates exactly what I described in my first post -- incumbents have an unfair advantage through power base building.

Also as I mentioned, I'm confident that other ideas would pop up. That's the benefit of honest collaboration -- it often creates something NEW, like our Constitution. Structural continuity, then, can be addressed.

So we either work together to fix this system, or we watch America continue to quickly decay. Our choice.

Well, no, Vichy Mac, the real problem is that only 37% of Americans can even NAME their congressman.

All the redistricting, term limits, and Ranked Clusterf**k voting aren't going to change the fact that people are that disengaged.

Most people who are engaged think, "Congress sucks, but my congressman is a pretty good guy." That's why they keep getting re-elected until someone puts a toe tag on them.

And how is that going to happen?

We have to face the fact that intelligence agencies, globalist investors and deep state Zionist factions run our political parties and pull all the strings. What we see on the surface is just a reality show mostly orchestrated by them. occasionally someone like Trump comes along who seems to threaten to expose them or throw a monkey wrench in their plans.....and they just combine their efforts and gradually pull any such people into the mess and make them part.of it using psy-ops or any other covert form of manipulation at their disposal.

I believe that in the beginning Trump really intended to drain the swamp and even made progress with it, but the vile denizens who live in it managed to slowly suck him into it and make him part.of it.

At least as a result of Trump being elected, I think America is beginning to get a much bigger understanding of all this deep state interference in the democratic process and in foreign affairs.
