Fundamentalism and adherence to an ideology (like religion or politics) can certainly be destructive. To me, one of its worst qualities is that it all but kills fundamental human curiosity. That almost inevitably makes a person automatically dismiss any input that doesn't fit, suit, advance and protect their worldview, and it distorts their very perceptions and thought processes.

Show me one example of a scientific experiment that proves that life is the product of dead matter with an application of unknown energy.
