Maybe you could get the Israeli air force to do a pre-emptive strike on it half way through construction.
 
Who cares on religious grounds? Mormons are no more whacko as a group than Southern Baptistis, which means both groups are whacko. Once again, who cares? Asthetic and safety issues, yes. Are there any?
 
Asthetics is what the debate is about. It would look weird in the desert, wouldn't it?
 
we already have one here, I don't even know where it is at mostly because it is in the Valley and I hate the Valley.

But Mormon temples are usually different depending on the community they are in-- so it would probably be designed to fit in, right? I mean, the one in Washington, D.C., looks different from the one in Salt Lake City, which is different from the one in Hawaii. If you didn't know they were Mormon temples you'd probably have no clue the buildings were even related, except that they're all well landscaped and they all have the name on the side.
