California's tax rate is almost twice my state's.

That is only part of it. What income the state does not tax and what deductions it allows also matter. Also important is the state's weather. Cold winters means spending money for heat. Hot summers means air conditioning cost.

Like most states, WA landowners get hosed. No income tax, but they tax everything else and landowners get charged property tax plus school and fire levies to make up for the funding that the democrat legislature and governor refuse to budget in spite of the supreme court order mandating they fully fund schools.

Hey well he has to prepare for 15 - 20K migrants a month. They all have to live someplace. To bad they couldn't all stay in their own country.
