The case for Alaska being expensive is distorted by multiple factors:
Huge portions of Alaska are not incorporated as cities or boroughs so have NO property taxes.
Nearlyt all statistics generated there are from Anchorage where almost nobody hunts or fishes for food, preferring the convenience of supermarkets and genereally refraining from price-shopping. In a supposed "RED" state Los Anchorage is dark blue star and their taxes and utility costs reflect that. Not to mention the crime rate and homeless population.
One really should disqualify any survey of Alaskans that includes even a single individual living within a 45 mile radius of the city's central bus depot. Their residence alone is proof of mental deficiency.
