10 Weird Facts About The Early Church - Listverse

Some of these come as no surprise, but I would bet that most people have never heard of others.
All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.
Possessions shared not forcibly taken by a government from those that work and given to worthless liberals who sit and moan about how their life sucks. It figures that a liberal mind would mistake charity for Socialism.

Some of these come as no surprise, but I would bet that most people have never heard of others.
Joanna was a wealthy supporter of Jesus and the apostles and witness to the resurrected Jesus. In his letter to the Romans, St. Paul writes about another woman: “I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church at Cenchreae . . . for she has been a benefactor of many and of myself as well.”[4] It seems clear from the evidence that women played major roles in the early Church, yet the Christian churches came to bar women from holding many offices.
The church who wanted only men to be priests couldn't allow women to enter into the clergy and basically wrote out the women in the bible. It was an injustice that still lives today. The church has billions of dollars behind its walls that keep people out. If a priest was to marry and have children, then there is an obligation of the church to take care of that family. While those who preach stay "celibate" (but pork young boys and other priests) they can continue to keep that wealth at the Vatican, along with Cardinal Law who knew that homosexual child predators were in his care.. Yeah I am very disappointed in the church, but since they are human, they are not perfect either. But I don't have to forgive them for what they have done to those children.

Possessions shared not forcibly taken

I think if you're killed for not sharing I think there is an element of coercion involved:

Here is a description from Acts 4: 32–35:

All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. [ . . . ] For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

In Chapter 5 of the Book of Acts, the radical message that all should be shared is underlined by the tale of Ananias and Sapphira. This married couple sells their property and gives some of the money to the apostles to share with the others.

For holding back part of their cash, St. Peter upbraids them. “Then Peter said, ‘Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?’ “[1]

Ananias falls down dead at the apostle’s feet. When Peter questions Sapphira about the money, he accuses her of conspiring against the Spirit of the Lord. She likewise drops dead on the spot.

Jesus was circumcised??
Didn't you know he was Jewish?

Yes, I knew he was Jewish.

I did not know that the wierd and barbaric custom of cutting off part of the penis went that far back.

OTOH, since christianity was copied from older religions, I also doubt Jesus existed.
doubt all you want, but when it is time to meet your maker.....

I met my makers. Mom was terrific, but dad, not so much....
