What Would It Take?

If there is a God then why does he rely upon the gullible to be his followers?

If that is the criterion for the existence of God, that his followers believe and have faith that miracles were performed by channeling his power then it should be easy enough to do it again, right?

Christianity is the largest religion in the entire world. Plenty of them are currently praying for those suffering with Ebola. What are they asking of their God? That he free them of this pestilence? And what do we see happening? We see mankind mobilizing to free itself of this pestilence.

Therefore we are our own God. We created our God, we performed the miracles that we give him credit for but collectively We the People are God.

Does that answer your question? ;)

Gullible?

Let's examine where 'gullible' really applies.

"The Left says of the Right, “You fools, it is demonstrable that dinosaurs lived one hundred million years ago, I can prove it to you, how can you say the earth was created in 4000BCE?” But this supposed intransigence on the part of the Religious Right is far less detrimental to the health of the body politic than the Left’s love affair with Marxism, Socialism, Racialism, the Command Economy, all of which have been proven via one hundred years of evidence shows only shortages, despotism and murder."
David Mamet

Try this....if you say 'orange' really slowly, it sounds just like 'gullible.'

Is that supposed to be an endorsement of your brand of religious fundamentalism - that you're not quite as bad as the mind numbing, leveling blade of totalitarianism?

Good for you. Theocratic totalitarianism is not quite as bad as political totalitarianism.

Jeebus! You managed to denigrate your own argument with your cutting and pasting. Not a first for you as your attempt at argument is nothing more than cutting and pasting.

Jealous?

And you should be.

when did you start following the Lord?

the scriptures teach us how we can know the Lord for ourselves.

I don't need to read your scriptures to know right from wrong, good from bad, love from hate, kindness from selfishness.

I remain true to myself and everything else follows naturally.

I give love freely and without reservation because I have an abundance to give.

I help others to achieve their best and thank them when they reach their goals.

I am not a follower, I am a leader.

all leaders are followers. All leaders are servants.

who exactly do you lead? Why do you seem to think ignoring thousands of years of wisdom and inspiration is a good thing?

I am not interested in followers. You chose to be a servant and a follower. I choose to live my own life on my own terms.

You are wrong that I am "ignoring thousands of years of wisdom and inspiration". I have read that and moved on to read the knowledge and inspiration that has happened in the subsequent millenia. I continue to read and learn from the wisdom and knowledge that we are acquiring on a daily basis.

A leader does not need followers. A leader has a vision for the future and works towards that vision. If others choose to follow then that is their choice but the leader does not need the followers to accomplish the vision.

However if the vision is greater than the leader can accomplish alone then the leader needs to communicate their vision and convince others to help achieve that vision. That need depends upon the leader's vision of the future. Not every leader has that need.

All of this is news to you because you have chosen to be a follower. I have chosen my own path and I enjoy each day because I learn new insights and wisdom by having to tackle challenges that leaders, rather than follows, face.

seriously? By definition a leader is someone who leads people who follow. If no one follows you, you aren't leading. It require at least two people for someone to be a leader.

also for someone professing an independent mind you sure sound like everyone other person who claims to be "independent".

there is a saying "wise men think alike and fools rarely differ." the question we all need to ask ourselves is which are we?

Followers, like you, require a leader.

Leaders have no need of followers.

You don't understand this because you are a follower and furthermore you will never grasp how this works because you lack leadership qualifications.

As far as misquoting let's start by setting the record straight with the right quotation.

"Great minds think alike, and fools seldom differ.”

I don't profess to be a great mind. I have stated that I am not a follower, I am a leader. I have been thrust into leadership roles even when I haven't sought them because others perceive me as a leader. I suspect there is a genetic component because it has happened to my father, my brother and my daughter.

Simply because I have the ability to lead does not mean that I am seeking a leadership position. I don't need it and I can do without the responsibility that comes with assuming a leadership role.

So you are wrong when you claim that it requires "at least two people for someone to be a leader". My innate leadership ability is something I was born with, just like the color of my eyes. There are plenty of people who aspire to be leaders but lack the innate ability. Yes, they can learn the skills but it doesn't come naturally to them the way it has for me.

Jealous? Of your brand of theocratic totalitarianism?

Thanks, but no. I'll give a nod to the Founding Fathers who understood that freedom from religion was an effective principle and mechanism to keep a choke collar around the necks of extremists like you.
