UC Davis truth: Photo; Student admits they trapped cops on purpose! Link.

Yep. That group of students sitting on the ground looks terribly threatening.

No wonder that cop, in obvious distress, had to use pepper spray.

Hey, they were "asking for it" anyways and pepper spray doesn't have any "permanent effects".

For such brilliant, educated liberals.....you folkd sure are fucking ignorant to case law and police tactic law.

There has NEVER been a death associated to exposure to 5% Oleorisun Capsicum Pepper Spray. Never. Not one. Cap-Stun was the leading group in the 80's to make it, 2 cops made it in their garage with rubbing alcohol and ground chile peppers. The effects wear off in 30-45 minutes. Burning sensation in eyes and mouth. Feels like a bad sunburn. I was certified in this shit twice, been sprayed probably 12-15 times in training environment, about 5 times by accident in real world use. Absolutely no permanent effect. In fact, in 1 hour, you wont know you got sprayed at all.

Sure beats getting bit by a K9, beat with a baton, or simply dragged and beaten by hand, or god forbid- tased, doesnt it?

Oh, I forgot. None of the options apply. The cops are supposed to surrender to the losers and just let them break laws all day.

You liberal retards need to actually educate yourself on this topic before opening your filthy mouths about it. To anyone with knowledge of police tactics and legal law on the issue, you sound like fucking morons.

Boo hoo. Socialist loving idiot students get sprayed and cry like babies. TOO BAD!!!

And so you show the REAL crux of your position. Since these were people with whom you disagree politically, you support government agents using force against them, as a means of controlling the political land scape.
No, I disagree with the idiots breaking the law and then crying when the police have to deal with them.

The cops were there to take care of the problem students, not walk past them. They did their jobs. The students caused a disturbance and got what they deserved, too bad.

They were there to "take care" of the "problem" of students peacefully assembling in accordance with their constitutional rights? Your love for an overbearing government is disturbing.
Your love for fanatical socialists is sickening.

UC Davis Student Admits Protesters Surrounded Cops and Wouldn't Let Them Leave | NewsBusters.org

Well well well. The UC Davis TRUTH is now leaking out. In the above link, a UC Davis protestor admits that they purposely encircled the cops, and quote: "We had encircled them [campus police], and they were trying to leave, and they were trying to clear a path. And so, we sat down, linked arms, and said that if they wanted to clear the path, they would have to go through us"

And "go through" you the cops did. BUT...dont believe the statement? How about the photo? Below, you'll see the cop who sprayed them.......AND the cops who were stuck inside the hippie circle in the back, who were told "you'll have to go through us". HERE is the photo:

Your picture shows a group of students sitting on the walkway with crowds of spectators on either side. There was no "encircled." The cops could have walked around them, and in fact it appears some of them did. The picture shows cops on each side of the line.

Nice try. And thank you for supporting bad acting cops. May you meet one in the near future.

I guess you are a supporter of bad acting thugs also? Cops who act badly are 99% of the time pushed into it by bad acting idiots and thugs. I know, I am retired law enforcement.

:clap2: Well put. Im retired leo also. If the cop haters would realize just how much of a pain in the ass it is for any cop to use force on someone, especially at a big hyped incident like this, they'd know it's last resort. I HATED using force, but sometimes had to. The IA shit, lawsuits, accusations, admin leave, etc, etc, is just hell on the family and mind. I just wanted to work my 10 and go fishing and watch football. I feel bad for all the cops in the OWS mess. I know they dont wanna be there.

You and I both know why a LT did that spraying. He was the top ranking guy there, and the school and PD wanted to be sure it was done 100% by the book. I feel for him the most.

Next time they should break out the water cannons....to help clean the pepper spray out of their eyes....

Its just sad and funny at the same time that liberals claim to be so educated, but have no fucking clue about case law concerning OC spray, levels of resistance, past lawsuits, other means of arrest and force by cops, etc, etc, etc.

IF cops are told a group must leave an area, in OWS or simply two dumbass rednecks who refuse to leave a bar when kicked out, and they are "passive" meaning just refusing to move after order to, OC spray has been deemed by legal experts and PD's as the best option among a list of options. But there is no GOOD solution. A human is being told to move when they do not want to. BAD is inevitable, just what level of bad. OC spray is the lowest of the bad. So say the courts.

Yanno.........I hope that every cop that pepper sprayed those students, as well as every asshole who thinks the cops acted appropriately, gets pepper sprayed in their dreams at least 4 times every night.

Did you say "case law"?

Is that your current $.59 word?

Why don't you cite some?

I am aware of case law supporting officers using non-lethal means to protect themselves, others, and property.

I am not aware of case law supporting officers using it because they are annoyed.

Your crappola bout how pleasant it is to be tear gassed or pepper sprayed is idiotic and irrelevant.

There has never been a single death from one person spitting on another. It is still illegal and considered an assault.

What kind of inept person can't get over somebody who is sitting? They were already on both sides of the individuals.

Doesn't matter WHAT they say... that had no actual effect on preventing someone from getting around.

I'm an obese individual and even I could still get over those people if I really wanted to.

They just wanted to try out their canisters.

Actually if you look in the background you can see that the cops CAN'T get out of the circle.
This certainly sheds new light on the situation and changes my mind on the use of the spray which I originally felt was uncalled for. Now I agree with its use.

MarcATL? Blu? MikeK? Salt Jones?

No one wants to comment now that the real truth on UC Davis is out?
I've already responded to this in another thread but I'll repeat my opinion here.

If the cops wanted to leave and the protesters did indeed obstruct their movement it was stupid, wrongful, and was categorical aggressive action in which case the cops acted defensively. But at this point what one girl said does not speak for everyone or prove anything. We need to hear more before drawing any conclusions.

And that photo shows nothing but seated protesters being sprayed with standing spectators in the background.

At the bottom of the link below there's a short clip with a cop going person to person saying "do you understand that if you refuse to move you will be subject to removal by force?" and each of them nodded that they understood.

These jackasses understood perfectly that they were going to get it and they were willing to go through it to make a political point. They were well warned...they got exactly what they deserved.

:lol::lol: You don't recognise hyperbole do you?:lol::lol: What a tool. BTW I love your sig line. Describes libs pretty damned well....mindless sheep who run away from whatever yells at them the loudest at that particular time.

You've got to be fucking kidding me. So you think if a group of people surround a group of cops, and when asked to move, the people say "NO you'll have to go through us", you think they should step over them? Well, police tactics 101 says you NEVER put your weapons within arms reach of someone unless absolutely necessary.

Trust me, they did NOT want to use the spray, look at the shitstorm it created.

BUT....the OWS'ers ASKED for it. Begged for it.

Case closed. UC Davis cops were MORE than justified. In fact, they shouldve used even more force, and went hands on and arrested every piece of shit liberal in that human chain.

Oh please.

You'd like to think that Bucs is not being serious wouldn't you? But no, there are actually people like that in the world. Hope the next president cuts off wi-fi to the trailerparks whomever he or she is.

As the new photo CLEARLY shows, and the student admittedly described, the students surrounded them, sat, and said "You'll have to go through us".

NOW....all 50 state laws say "preventing the free movement of another human being" is, but statute, called "kidnapping".

The cops in that circle COULD have used fists and batons to literally beat their way through.

But instead, they had a commanding officer, the Lt., who used the less lethal liquid pepper spray OC, which has ZERO permanent effects and wears off in 30 minutes.

Should they instead have beaten the students? Hell no. They made the right choice.

Case closed boys. If you surround a bunch of cops and demand "You'll have to go through us", well, the cops are gonna go through you. Dont whine when you get what you asked for.

No amount of spin can excuse what those wilder-beasts did to those poor kids...NO AMOUNT!!

Actually if you look in the background you can see that the cops CAN'T get out of the circle.

This certainly sheds new light on the situation and changes my mind on the use of the spray which I originally felt was uncalled for. Now I agree with its use.
I have closely examined every photo and video of this spraying incident I could find and I've seen nothing but a cop spraying a small group of passively seated students while crowds of spectators look on in the background. I've seen absolutely nothing that even vaguely suggests any of those cops' freedom of movement was obstructed by anyone. If you know of any such photo evidence please refer me to it.

The bottom line in this controversy is regardless of how legally justified this cop's action is, and regardless of how relatively benign the pepper spray he's using is, the popular public response to what he's doing clearly shows it's nothing to be proud of. So those who are attempting here to impart a positive impression of police need to find some very different pictures. Because what we've been seeing since OWS began is picture after picture of helmeted goons spraying passive protesters, including an 85 year-old woman, in the face with pepper gas and the shooting a young vet in the head with a tear-gas canister hard enough to crack his skull.

Most relevant to this controversy is the reason for the police action against the Davis students and the OWS protesters in general. These people are not protesting the outcome of a sports event or the closing of a rock concert. OWS is protesting the systematic sabotage of the American middle class by the One Percent. But with few exceptions, such as retired Philadelphia police Captain Ray Lewis, the police disregard their own middle class status preferring instead to assert their authority over those who dare to disobey them.

Use of the word "admits" in this questionable comment implies something which simply is not factual. The proper word to use in this report is claims, or says. How do we know this "student" is not a police infiltrator? Or a neurotic? The fact is we know nothing about her, or who she is, and there has been nothing in the way of further investigation of her claim. So at this time it is appropriate to regard her comment as dismissible nonsense.

Yes,a couple of unarmed peaceful kids are going to intimidate and frighten an army of Police equipped with body armor, pepper spray, tasers, clubs and automatic weapons. Yup real good story there. Too bad it's a fairy tale lie. This is why so many people have lost faith in the Police. They constantly lie and get away with it. Next they'll be claiming these kids were Al Qaeda Terrorists who were about to beat them to death with their bare hands. Always record your interaction with the Police. It's the only way to keep them honest.
