I'm assuming you are German and clearly you don't speak for the German government with that type of remark. If you were, you would know that American withdrawal of assistance would VASTLY affect Germany more than if Germany wasn't even a part of NATO.

Germany saves far more money in defense and other capabilities by being a part of NATO. They are a strong economy, maybe the most sound in the world by some metrics. They can and should be paying their 2% obligation.

Security of it's citizens is the basic primary obligation of any government, some have been pampered for so long and so removed from history that they forget this obligation? Germany, and many others, are not being fair to America. Now that the worlds favourite whipping boy is taking a stance, some have their feathered ruffled, so be it, Trump has 88% favourability with his party for a reason.

Each country would be carrying their own weight. How is that a bad thing?
