As far as I can gather the Cohen gene comes from the Cohen tribe of the Jews who are the rabbinical scholars of old. Not having the information I cant say whether or not the tribe originated from Isaac and Jacob or Abraham. Or even if it was a separate lineage that came in from outside. But the Jewish tribe in Ethiopia shows the Cohen gene in their teachers and leaders, and they are as dark skinned and African as you can get.
