This is par for the course. It is always Israel's fault according to the Palestinians. Hmm, I wonder which country Abbas ancestors came from -- Egypt? Jordan?

Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said Sunday that despite efforts by Secretary of State John Kerry, the PA has so far gotten nothing out of the ongoing peace negotiations with Israel.

As he usually does, Abbas blamed Israel for the lack of progress in the peace talks, the Bethlehem-based Ma’an news agency reported.

"The problem is with the Israeli side and not with us," Abbas was quoted as having said in an interview on Moroccan television following the Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Committee meeting in Marrakesh.

What idiots they are. They can't even lie properly. :eusa_whistle:

A paragraph from the link states:

The PA has repeatedly slammed Israel’s planned construction in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, despite the fact that it was informed in advance that Israel will continue to build as talks continue. The areas in which Israel plans to build are areas that even the PA has previously accepted will be part of Israel in a future deal.

And what about Abbas' refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state? That speaks volumes.

And what about Abbas' refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state? That speaks volumes.

Recognition isn't necessary..

I think there may be hope yet.. Russia has signed an offshore oil deal with Syria and probably will sign with Gaza and Israel very soon...

There are lots of reasons to mend fences.

Yes it is, because if it isn't then neither is right of return. Gaza don't have no gas it is outside of its territorial waters, just as the gas Turkey is trying to claim is outside theirs.

Gaza don't have??????

Israel needs cooperation to get their gas to markets...

And we will soon be awash in natural gas and oil which will depress the gas and oil markets.

Peak Oil BS is DEAD.

This is not a slam dunk for Israel so don't be a fool.

Poll after poll reveals that the palestinian people overwhelmingly consider their right to live in western Palestine a non-negotiable point (up to 90% of palestinians as a whole and virtually 100% when the survey is conducted only in refugee camps).

From the poorest refugee camps in Egypt to the luxury apartments in Manhattan it is virtually impossible to find a single palestinian refugee family that is willing to accept the "jewish character" of the jewish racial dictatorship.

From 90 year old granpas and grannies to 8, 10 year old children the rejection of the jewish racist state is massive, passionate and growing stronger and stronger with each new generation.

People who believe the palestinian society or its leaders for that matter are even remotely considering the possibility of giving up their right to live in western Palestine are the same people who strongly believed Le Duc Tho's "sincerity" when he assured the world, speech after speech, interview after interview, that North Vietnam would not resume hostilities against the South.

30 years earlier those same idiots were totally convinced by minister Ribbentrop that Germany would not atack the Soviet Union for the next 5 years.

WHY ? when they can build an underwater pipeline to Europe and sell the gas there, the Saudis wont be able to compete having to send theirs by tanker the long way round. If oil and gas production starts to depress the price then OPEC will cut production and force the price back up. So it is a win win situation for Israel and gaza will be the loser because it has refused to deal honourably with Israel. Israel could build a pipeline to Egypt and Jordan and sell its gas there as well, so no cooperation is needed with gaza or the P.A.

Then they will remain refugee's till the sun goes cold

PSALM 83==O GOD, Your enemies make an uproar,
And those who hate You have exalted themselves.

3 They make shrewd plans against Your people,
And conspire together against Your treasured ones.

4 They have said, “Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation,
That the name of Israel be remembered no more.”

5 For they have conspired together with one mind.

Yeah, and it was the Republicans who shut down the Government, they refused to surrender to all the Democrats demands!

I don't consider a Palestinian living in a luxury apartment in Manhattan to be a "refugee". My parents were forced out of Poland (besides my dad losing his whole family), but they never considered themselves to be refugees. If by "Western Palestine" you mean Israel within the Green Line, then you'll be waiting forever. And, by the way, let me tell you as someone who's been to Israel proper, that Israel is not a "racial dictatorship". There are Arab doctors, nurses, professors and university students. The situation in the West Bank might be different, but hopefully that will be worked out thru negotiations.
