The OJ sentence was severe.

I so totally agree with your quote above. YOu know the injustice of the application of law is what makes me uneasy. It does not bother me so much that OJ is in prison. As I stated, he deserves to spend some time there. The way they railroaded him shows the world that if they want to put you behind bars, it can be done.

My old man, a doctor, was arrested twice by the police of my home town when I was in high school. Dad was out hunting two different men who had stolen money from him. Dad believed in "fair justice" but the cops made him surrender his weapon. They put him in jail overnight until he cooled down and sobered up a bit, and let him go the next morning with no charged crime.

That was fair justice. The men had done him wrong, and just the word that he was gunning for them with a real .45 was enough for both of them to move out of state. Now, that was fair.

If they had tried to put Dad in jail for two years for exaggerated crime charges, my family would have taken the jail down. Men in my family don't take no sheet from nobody if there is an opportunity to retaliate.

OJ had some rights there that were neglected. There are such things as mitigation and extenuation. I hope OJ's case is overthrown on appeal in a few years.

Your father should have been charged with a felony. And you wouldn't say a word about it. You'd sit at home and wait for his crazy ass to get out of jail. If you didn't, you'd find yourself being your fathers cellmate.

OJ got away with murder. Fine. No one was going to bother OJ had he just stayed out of trouble. The fact that he did this robbery thing says he's a menace to society/loose cannon. Would you commit such a crime if you got away with a double murder and had $5 million in the bank? Or would you forget about your memorabilia and just go golfing. If I murdered someone and got away with it, I wouldn't even j walk.

He got the max sentence for what he did. He did not get OVER the max sentence for the robbery, but you are god damn right the double murder played into the jury and judges minds when handing down their verdict and sentence.

Actually, a couple years ago this new neighbor was drunk and accused me of taking money from his apartment. I didn't take anything from his apartment, but he came to my door with a buddy and a baseball bat. Later that night, when he was passed out and alone, someone broke open his doorwall, went in and beat the fuck out of him. Whoever did that could have gotten a 10 year felony. Would that be fair/reasonable? I don't think so, but in the eyes of the law, that was B&E and A&B. In my eyes, it was just teaching some punk bitch a lesson. :eusa_shhh:

Possession. Who owned what?

Every item was reported stolen By OJ long before. One of the "victims" even admitted it.

Ohh and again NO KIDNAPPING. Unless the State can prove that every robbery in similar circumstances or a majority were tried in the same manner with kidnapping charges, then on appeal this should be thrown out.

Wrong as usual, never proven and in fact the evidence was pretty damning that the cops TRIED to frame OJ.

wow...it's interesting to note that not only are you a dumbfuck about politics you're just a dumbfuck in general!

the Prosecution lost the murder trial, not the evidence itself. There was plenty of evidence to convict him but they fucked it all up.

One thing has nothing to do with the other. He was sentenced according to the guidelines allowed in Nevada so what's with all the whinging anyway?

just the facts madame...

In September 2007, Simpson was arrested[3] in Las Vegas, Nevada and charged with numerous felonies, including robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon, coercion with use of a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit a crime.[4]

A jury found Simpson guilty of all charges on October 3, 2008;[5][6] and he was sentenced on December 5 to at least nine years in prison.[7]

In September 2007, a group of men led by Simpson entered a room at the Palace Station hotel-casino and took sports memorabilia at gunpoint, which resulted in Simpson being questioned by police.[23][24] Simpson admitted to taking the items, which he said had been stolen from him, but denied breaking into the hotel room; he also denied that he or anyone else carried a gun.[25][26] He was released after questioning.

Two days later, however, Simpson was arrested[3] and initially held without bail.[27] Along with three other men, Simpson was charged with multiple felony counts, including criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, assault, robbery, and using a deadly weapon.[28][29] Bail was set at $125,000, with stipulations that Simpson have no contact with the co-defendants and that he surrender his passport. Simpson did not enter a plea.[30][31]

By the end of October 2007, all three of Simpson's co-defendants had plea bargained with the prosecution in the Clark County, Nevada court case.

evidence for this statement? and do two thefts make a right? possession?

we are a nation of laws and not possessions. if you steal from me and sell it to Bob I cannot take back what I once owned from bob without his surrender or a court order. that is theft

what was stolen and who owned it?

OJ and his buddies went in and took stuff that didn't belong to OJ.

Who owned it? Ron Goldman. That's the crazy thing about all this. Anything of value is supposed to go to the Goldman's because OJ was found GUILTY in a civil trial.

In a civil trial, you only have to be 51% sure of guilt. In a criminal trial, you have to be 100% sure.

So in reality, OJ was found guilty of murdering two people. :clap2:

These people act like it should be ok for OJ or their father's to run around acting like Charles Bronson. It doesn't work that way.

Actually, some times it does work that way. I've had cops look the other way because the person deserved the ass woopin.

Whoops, I meant to pos rep the statement about it all belonging to Goldman, sorry!

I agree the stuff would've belonged to the Goldman estate only if they legally came into the possession of OJ.

OJ was found guilty of theft/armed robbery ergo, he did not own the stuff.

did you do the whoopin or the screamin'?

I agree in the principle of looking away within reason.

A.k.a.: Corruption.

boo hoo. using your standards we are all corrupt for most of our waking hours and then some.

in then real world and not the one of absolutes you live in, there are edges that are and should be skirted as the laws cannot be perfect in dealing with assholes like you.

now assume the position.

Corruption is essentially termed as an "impairment of integrity, virtue or moral principle; depravity, decay, and/or an inducement to wrong by improper or unlawful means, a departure from the original or from what is pure or correct, and/or an agency or influence that corrupts."[1]

Corruption, when applied as a technical term, is a general concept describing any organized, interdependent system in which part of the system is either not performing duties it was originally intended to, or performing them in an improper way, to the detriment of the system's original purpose.

Its terminological usage possesses connotations of evil, malignance, sickness, and loss of innocence or purity.

I'm not going to implicate myself on these boards, but let me just say I would never do anything to anyone that would cause the cops to look the other way if I got an ass woopin.

Despite how I might seem on these boards, I'm one of the nicest people you could ever meet. But I'm just like my grandfather, god rest his soul. He will give you the shirt off his back, but screw him over and watch out.

I will tell you about one situation I got in. I was at the mall and 3 25 year olds started fucking with me and my buddy. We are in our late 30's. I told the biggest one that he should be careful who he messes with because he could run into the wrong person. He laughed and came at me because I'm short, out of shape and old. I LOVED IT! I warned him several times not to come too close, but he kept throwing fake/half punches at me. On the 3rd fake punch, I shot in and football tackled him to the ground, tied him up, head butted him in the face and then choked him with his own shirt. When the cop showed up, he arrested me because, as he put it, "I threw the first punch". I said, "you mean I have to be hit first before I can defend myself?" and he said THAT'S RIGHT! I contacted a lawyer and it turns out there is a new law in 2004 or 2006 that says you don't have to be hit first. You only have to feel threatened. Needless to say, I walked scott free.

So there is a situation where the cop should have used descretion. The asshole arrested the wrong guy. And it cost me $1000 in lawyer fees. I should have sued the kid for $1000 but I was just grateful to be not guilty.

The court tried sooooo hard to get me to settle. First they offered 1 year reporting probation, my lawyer said, "my client is innocent and wants to go to trial". Then they offered 6 months, then 3 months. They day of trial, the three kids didn't show up and they still wanted me to take a plea. The prosecutor tried to admit the written testimony. My lawyer said, "bullshit, my client has the right to face his accusors and I have the right to cross examine them". So the case got thrown out. :eusa_pray:

My cop friend went in and talked to the judge. He said, "your honor, mr sealybobo is a friend of mine and if he wanted to hurt those guys, he could have, but all he did was restrain the kid and hold him down until he calmed down". The judge said to him, "off the record, I don't like the idea of 20 year olds loitering in a mall parking lot and harrassing older people, I sort of think its funny that the kid got his butt kicked".

But of course the judge would never say that in court.

The justice system is not fair. A lot of innocent people get screwed and a lot of dirt balls walk free.

It's all about the courts and lawyers making money. :eusa_shhh:

I hate to think what I might do if I didn't walk away from dopes. When I was younger it was different. Now I know I'm gonna hurt myself fighting so I will go all out. Fuk restraining some asshole. but as I usually walk away...knowing I could seriously hurt them if I wanted to is enough to hold off any challenge.

but great story. I like it

Oh, I forgot to mention that when I picked him up and football tackled him on the parking lot pavement, my left hand was right behind his knee. My buddy said it was a perfect football tackle. The 6' 250 lb guys head hit the pavement and he was knocked out for about 10 seconds. But I looked at my left hand and in between the pinky and middle finger, the skin was ripped off down to the bone. That's why I head butted him. I was pissed I got hurt.

But it is easy for me to turn my anger off and on. Once I know I got you, I stop fighting. Most of my friends say, "I won't stop, someone will have to pull me off". I'm totally not that way. I might hurt someone in the heat of battle on accident, but I'm not a mean person who wants to hurt anyone. Embarrass them? Sure. But not hurt. LOL.

But yes, it was a funny scene. Most of my friends were saying, "you still got it sealybobo", because I'm 5'7, 220 and 38 yrs old. No way that big 25 year old thought I'd take him down like that. You should have seen the cocky grin on his face.

When he was coming at me throwing those fake punches, I said, "I'm warning you, I wrestled in college" and he said, "what, 100 years ago", and I remember his buddies calling me a short fat old man.

One of them even said, "wanna put some money on this".

When I finally restrained the kid I looked up at his buddy and said, "how much did we have on this?".

Oh yea, it was sweet justice. The bully got his ass whipped.

Afterward when security showed up they started talking shit again. They said:

1. I got a baseball bat in the car
2. We could make a call and have 20 friends up here in 5 minutes
3. Lets take this somewhere else

When I let the kid up and said to him, "dude, how are you gonna hang out with these guys ever again after they saw you get your ass kicked by a short fat old man".

He was FURIOUS!!!!!!!

I freakin loved it!!! Until I got arrested that is.

I can turn IT off too, but I wouldn't because it would take a lot for me to engage one today. I have a few injuries that would hurt too badly to really fight. To just fuk around is one thing, to fight another. I'm too old for that shit ...and too beaten up.

but there's still something left. I'm seriously thinking of taking martial arts classes for the first time in my life because of the discipline and exercise aspect along with the self defense techniques learned.

I had some kid say recently "I'm deep" with a phone in his hand. Good thing I didn't know what he meant at the time. He meant he was with a lot or people..a gang (deep)? The phone? Text messaging..to a group.

Ever have a kid mess with you and go for his phone...take the fuckin' phone away and pronto. Pay later. Text and in 3 minutes, 30 kids. I can see the day I get hauled into court to pay for a few kid's phones.

btw, anyone warns me they wrestled in college, I try and walk away no matter what they look like. I have no desire to eat pavement in a battle of testosterone.

Take Ju Jit Su. A few of my buddies learned it and now after I take them down to the ground, they choke me out, or make me tap with an arm or leg hold.

And they learn to fight from their backs. So while I'm tiring myself out, he's resting and remaining calm. Won't help you in a bar brawl, but still great to know.

One time I went to a Taco Bell and there were 20 black kids. Looked like a gang to me. One of them said something to me and I said, "if you didn't have all your friends here, you wouldn't talk like that to me". I'm glad nothing went down because I can't take 20 kids. lol.

I also notice Arab kids travel in packs/gangs. They are bullies when they are in a group. And they think all us Christians are going to hell so they have little respect for any of us. Even my arabic friends say, "man, you are such a nice guy, its too bad you are going to hell".
