Who should we expect to pay most of out taxes?

U.S._Distribution_of_Wealth%2C_2007.jpg

Should it be the 1% who control 34.6% of our wealth
or the 40% who control 2 tenths of a percent of our wealth?

They don't control OUR wealth, they control their own wealth just like you do. Who should we expect to pay the most? How about everybody pay equally? Nah, that wouldn't work for Democrats because Democrats tell people they will give them things and send the bill to the wealthy. After all, who would vote against free stuff for them at other peoples expense?

The issue is national policy

WHY do we continue to enact public policy that helps the wealthy maintain and gain wealth when they obviously don't need it and it hasn't delivered the "trickle down" effects that were promised?

Who are you to judge who needs what? I'm sure there are ghetto people that think you have too much and don't need anything else. Should we take things from you because that's the way they feel?

What public policy to you speak of that "helps" the wealthy? The wealthy doesn't need the government to create profit. They need government to stay out of their lives to create profit.

"How much is YOUR fair share of what somebody else worked for?"
Thomas Sowell

It's not a question of how many yachts or cars can the wealthy own......but one of how long to we accept the excuse that they can't afford to pay higher taxes, higher wages, create more jobs given their conspicuous wealth

Nobody said "they can't" pay higher taxes, it's just that the top 10% of wage earners in this country pay 70% of all collected income taxes as it is. Hell, the top 1% pay 40% of all collected income taxes.

The question is not their ability, but of equity.

And as I've pointed out to you numerous times;

1% of 1,000,000.00 is more 1% of 10. It's not the amount of dollars paid, it's the percentage of total income/revenue vs tax paid. The top pay (in dollars) 3%, while the middle class pays (in dollars) 15%.

Sure they do Mr.Rich man:

Again. It's the percentage, NOT the amount.

Why do you continue to defend the rich when we're clearly screwing you?

Click the links, it is all about percentage.

YES the wealthy profit from roads, bridges, police, fire and public services more than the average family. An average family uses public infrastructure to visit grandma once a month. The wealthy rely on it to conduct business, move their product, bring in low cost supplies..it affects their profit margin. The average family has few items of value. The wealthy use police and fire to protect their business investment. The wealthy need our courts to defend their business contracts, protect their patents, protect against unfair competition

The wealthy benefit no more than anybody else. People need to use the roads to get to work everyday, to go grocery shopping, to have trucks bring those groceries to their store, same goes with gasoline to run their car, to get their mail and packages delivered.

Yes, the wealthy need to move their products and bring in supplies. But don't worry about that because the government taxes the shit out of us in the transportation industry and we pass those taxes on to Mr. Wealthy in our delivery/ pickup charges. Our small trucks get 13 mpg and our tractor-trailers average about 6.5 mpg, and they tax the hell out of diesel fuel. Plus there is additional road taxes on how many miles we drive.

As for business contracts, courts, patents, the wealthy pay for those separately on top of the taxes they pay. Remember that if a business has 300 employees, all those employees pay SS taxes, Medicare taxes, city taxes, state taxes, and in some places, county taxes. Without Mr. Wealthy, our governments would never benefit from all those taxes they collect.
Oh please......save me from your grocery shopping. Used to be people lived near groceries and where they worked. They do not need roads to survive. Business does

The rich PROFIT from our infrastructure. It moves goods and services.

Business pays for those services at a lower rate than personal income. Mr Wealthy OWNS government. All those things are just the cost of doing business

always 100% stupid and liberal. RW has learned 1000 times that business does not pay tax cost. Like all costs it passes them on to customers in form of higher prices. Business is a tax collector not a tax payer. RW is a typical low IQ liberal with no pride who lies to himself that he makes sense so he can feel good about himself!!

So what did they do, hike through dirt trails to get to the store? How did the store get the products?

The rich move their products and you and I buy those products. We have more grocery stores today than ever before.

Obviously we all profit from and depend 100% upon infrastructure. Couldn't get to work, store, school, fun, doctor without it. 1+1=2. A child would know this but not a liberal.
Business fails without a way to move goods and services.
Individuals can move close to work, stores and schools. That is the way it used to be. We don't need suburbs

That is a myth

Business needs a market. That is what sets prices
If business could charge a higher price in a given market, they would already be doing it

The correct answer is: it is none of your business what your neighbor does with his money. If you don't like what he purchases, you are not entitled to take his money.

Mind your own business. And by that I don't mean stay out of his, but I mean get off your lazy behind and take care of your finances.

Every tax deduction, credit, and exemption is paid for by HIGHER TAX RATES, you innumerate fuck.

That makes them no different than food stamps. Government gifts. That's why economists call them tax EXPENDITURES.

WRONG again. Food stamps, welfare, housing subsidies, phones, encourage people receiving handouts, to sit back on their Lazy-e-boy and watch Family Feud on their big flat screen.

Tax deductions, encourage people to purchase things, expand their business. I once bought a huge SU I I really did not need because my CPA advised me the year before that I could take a $25,000 tax deduction the first year if it was over 6,000 pounds because it qualified as a truck. I bought a new computer every year, sometimes two donating the old one to a charity. Write off for the new one and a charity donation for the old one. They kept me up to date and a leader in the view of my customers.

A friend of mine with whom I raced motorcycles was a sheet metal worker. Part-time he started doing silk screening. He and his wife started in the early '70's. They both work full-time jobs, live cheaply and buy equipment. Then they rent a small space to move the equipment and business. They buy more up to date equipment to be ahead of their competition, not taking a penny for themselves and now paying several employees while they still worked their full-time jobs. Soon he quit his full-time job and worked the silk-screening business full-time. Business expands, she quits work and they have several kids, she now stays home to take care of the kids.

Mike now employs dozens of workers in decent paying jobs who are now paying income taxes. They buy a large house and several cars and has now built his own warehouse.

Please explain how these two examples are the same as the welfare couple with their kids sitting o the couch watching Wheel of Fortune are the same thing.

Correct, but they can't. That's why wages are not increasing with time. The American consumer is consumed with cheap. They don't care where their products are made, what workers earn, as long as they can buy products cheaper.

You don't need suburbs, but suburbs are not built on need--they are built on desire. People wanted to move out of the big cities (especially when bussing started) and live away from big city problems.

Yes there is a corporate pie
They look at that pie and decide how much they are going to keep and how much trickles down to the workers
As I showed you...less and less is trickling down to the workers at a national GDP level

Now, explain again why we are giving tax cuts to corporations

You really do go out of your way to prove the credibility of Jonathan Gruber and his statements about the supporters of Obamacare.

How is an increase to the highest corporate tax rate in the world, 39.% a benefit to our economy when companies go out of their way to keep their money out of our country.

Which is greater? 39% of $1,000.00 or 15% of $10,000.00?

Go for it. Maybe your kids can help you.

We are looking at the nationwide workers slice of the pie which has diminished. We need to change national policy to help the workers instead of the one percent.

Please explain to us all how hurting the top 1% helps the productivity and value of a worker to his/her employer? Isn't increasing their value to an employee to their employer the responsibility of the worker? Many corporations including Walmart, have extensive training programs to help their workers move up the ladder and earn far more money and self-awareness.

You said the federal government should do something to make the companies overpay their workers. You can't do that in a free capitalist society. You can only do that through dictatorships, Communism or Socialism.

Forcing employers to overpay their workers is exactly what was done by FDR which helped to extend the Great Depression by seven years.

There is one way for a worker to get ahead and stick it to their employer. Get trained and become in demand. Then make your employer aware that you are open to leaving in a heartbeat when a higher paying opportunity comes along. Loyalty to an employer IS NO longer an admirable trait and is a bad trait as it is no longer valued by corporations. Its now an era of employer versus employee. Basic economics 101. Corporations on the whole look to screw their workers as much as possible. Indisputable facts.

When have employees been overpaid? That's laughable. Your utter hatred for working class people is apparent.

One will work as hard as they are paid. More payi is more productivity. Less pay should mean less productivity.

Doesn't that highlight how the middle-class slice of the pie has diminished?

The middle-income worker numbers further diminished under the policies and regulations put in place by petulant former President Barack Hussein Obama. Isn't that where your blame should be focused?
