The info Rice had at the time wasn't WRONG in the sense that local witnesses at the scene said the attackers/terrorists said the video was a reason for the attacks. It may not have been the only or even major reason but that is what some of the perpetrators said. And because a crowd had gathered and some were lootinng, etc., the idea of a demonstration was born. It is difficult to determine what actually went on in chaos and sometimes there are no definitive answers. Also, witnesses tend to see things differently or hear different things being said depending on their location and perspective at the time. It isn't that big a deal for preliminary and even final information to be wrong to some extent.

The only people on the planet that blamed the attack in Benghazi on the video all live in the United States, there were no witnesses at the scene who even thought this was about the video.

Wild? Maybe...maybe not so much. Well... to start with he was way out of position even being in Benghazi on the anniversary of 9/11. He should have been safely guarded by the Marines in Trippoli. I believe he was gay. If I am right he was a walking risk in a muslim country. If I am wrong then I am wrong. It won't be the first or last time. But...if I am right it certainly changes the possibilities of why he was killed. It also puts the administration in a very awkward position explaining what happened there.

Let's pose a hypothetical question. Suppose your neighbor that owns a lot of land with numerous buildings on it, and that he has a history of having dog fights on his property, and a judge orders him not to have fights anymore, and that, in order to avoid going to jail, he has to allow the police to verify he is not having dog fights by searching his property. The judge, however, does not want to totally wipe out his right to privacy, so he says that the cops can only and that the police want to search his property to make sure he is no longer doing so. Instead of letting them do so, he always misdirects them, and is constantly moving things around for no apparent reason. He also has locked buildings that he won't let the police into, and when the police come back with a warrant for that building, freshly cleaned, and is open and empty, but another building that was previously unused is now locked.

Then we add in the fact that he is bragging to everyone that he is still having dog fights, but no one will ever be able to prove it. He even has people who work for him who believe there are dog fights occurring on his property, but never actually gets caught. The police, the FBI, the SPCA, PETA, and even other dog fight aficionados all believe he is having dog fights. The police go to court and argue that the only way they are going to be able to prove this is to move in and publicly search everything he owns at the same time in order to prove he is still having dog fights. The judge OKs this, but gives him a few days in order to allow him to comply with his previous orders.

He still brags about holding dog fights, and still tells his employees that no one will ever catch hm. At the same time his daughter decides to go to the police and insist that he is not having dog fights, and that he has been lying about it all this time in order to look more important than he is. She also insists that everyone who has been talking about the dog fights is lying. The police listen to her, and decide to take thorough. The judge dismisses the evidence from the daughter, and orders the police to raid the property anyway.

It turns out the daughter was telling the truth, does that make the judge wrong?
