Pot shops on the run in California

Yes because ending prohibition greatly reduced organized crime, criminal conduct and the commission of crimes. That's why we don't have organized crime cartels today!

None of which addresses the issue of communities performing their own crackdown where marijuana is legal. Why are they doing that?

No answer.
lying sack of shit.....i have answered you twice.....you just don't want to believe what i have been saying because it doesn't go with your ..."its a health risk" bullshit....

Spoken like a true addict.

I never said that Los Angeles pays someone $100.00 an hour to put labels on water bottles. I did say that Los Angeles has a city worker whose job it is to remove the labels from water bottles and put city labels on the bottles.

Which is true. Although the City has now given up the practice.

Without knowing the hourly figure, Los Angeles spends a million dollars a year to its official calligraphers. How much do the calligraphers make to cost a million a year?

Gil Kerlikowske, the White House director of national drug-control policy, said a study by his office showed a strong link between drug use and crime. Eighty percent of the adult males arrested for crimes in Sacramento, Calif., last year tested positive for at least one illegal drug. Marijuana was the most commonly detected drug, found in 54 percent of those arrested.

The study found similar results in four other cities: New York, Denver, Atlanta and Chicago. Among the cities, it included examinations of 1,736 urine samples and 1,938 interviews with men who were arrested.

Researchers found that marijuana was the most popular drug used by men who’d been arrested in all the cities, ranging from a low of 37 percent in Atlanta to a high of 58 percent in Chicago. Chicago also had the highest overall positive test results, with 86 percent of the men found to have at least one drug in their bloodstreams.

What marijuana proponents really don't want you to know is this.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. It looks like legalized marijuana will do nothing more than fuel the black market and increase car accidents.

That would be an increase in FATAL car accidents, by the way

According to the Colorado Department of Transportation, 32 people involved in fatal car crashes in the state in 2010 had ingested cannabis.

One recent review of several studies of pot smoking and car accidents suggested that driving after smoking marijuana might almost double the risk of being in a serious or fatal crash.

To an addict, only that which justifies the continued addiction is accepted. Everything in opposition to the addiction is rejected. An alcoholic cannot be convinced that alcohol is ruining his health or life. They will swear the are better driver, workers, lovers when they have a few under their belt. Pot users are no different. Pot makes them better all around people. That is the exact same thing that heroin users say, meth users, cocaine. The substance doesn't matter. It's the addiction and the addiction never sings a new tune.

Of course there are links against what I posted. There is a lot of support out there for pot. There was enormous support for tobacco, which was really recommended by doctors at one time, until there wasn't support for tobacco. I did not suggest that the links had anything to do with the closing of pot stores OR the fact that cities that had legalized pot now think better of that decision and are voting to ban it. The reasons don't matter. There are probably as many reasons as there are cities banning the stuff. When people have a chance to live with legal marijuana for awhile, many of them find it detrimental enough to ban it. The reasons don't matter. They are doing it and chasing pot purveyors all around the state.
