It seems that Pete Rose is not taking it well that Ichiro is about to surpass his all-time hit record.

Professional hits, yes, but the record is an MLB record, so Pete is still the winner.

We didn't fight those dirty Koreans in the Civil War so they could come over and steal our hockey records.

"It sounds like in Japan, they're trying to make me the Hit Queen," Rose told USA Today Sports. "I'm not trying to take anything away from Ichiro -- he's had a Hall of Fame career -- but the next thing you know, they'll be counting his high school hits.

"I don't think you're going to find anybody with credibility say that Japanese baseball is equivalent to Major League Baseball. There are too many guys that fail here and then become household names there, like Tuffy Rhodes."

Rose on record: Ichiro's Japan hits don't count

Are all the hist Rose ever made counted as well?

Professional hits, yes, but the record is an MLB record, so Pete is still the winner.

That's not what Don Mattingly said.

doesn't matter. Rose is still the hit king, but that isn't denigrating what Ichiro has done at all.

Will it matter when MLB recognizes it?

It won't.

You'll eat those words.

I doubt it.
