One seat the Republicans won't win

O'Donnell Vs. Coons is probably one the the counties highest pofile races, but this woman shoots herself in the foot damn near everytime she opens here mouth. Please Christine, PLEASE tell me 'that's what the first ammendment says?' was not a serious question.

O'Donnell questions separation of church, state - Yahoo! News

Ahh yes the old. We'll take a quote and mischaracterize" trick...Yes the little scribe devils at AP forgot about electronic media being the watchdog that keeps the print media in line.
Umm, here's a homework assignment for you or anyone else who dares.. Find in the US Constitution where there is any reference to "Seperation or Church and State"..
I'll save you the time.. It isn't there.
O'Donnell is going to win the seat.
BTW, the only mention of religion is in the Bill of Rights.
Amendment I.......Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
The origins of what is now the misunderstood and misued phrase "seperation of church and state" come from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson..Here is an excerpt from that letter....."Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between Man & his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legitimate powers of government reach actions only, & not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between Church & State. [Congress thus inhibited from acts respecting religion, and the Executive authorised only to execute their acts, I have refrained from prescribing even those occasional performances of devotion, practiced indeed by the Executive of another nation as the legal head of its church, but subject here, as religious exercises only to the voluntary regulations and discipline of each respective sect.] Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties."Pretty simple.....
Yes Jefferson mentioned speration of church and state but in the strict context of the Establishment Clause

Many of the Tea Party candidates reveal an awful ignorance of matters constitutional and historical. Then they cry when they get hammered? That moves them from ignorant to ignortarant. And the loons who support them are something else.

The Republicans of Delaware exposed themselves as completely ignorant. They had a strong candidate in Mike Castle, who would have easily defeated Coons. Palin has these robocalls made to the voters just before the primaries, telling them to vote for O'Donnell, and all of the sudden Mike Castle is out. If they had used their brains and researched O'Donnell they would have known that she is not familiar with the truth, and has not even held a job since she was fired in 2004. She also scrambled to finally earn her college degree by finishing up her coursework (she's 41!) and received her college degree in September 2010.

She has repeatedly lied about her education--went to Oxford for post graduate work--hardly--and even had to admit that she may have been wrong about that!

I can't wait until the election is over--I live right near the Delaware border and have to see her silly ads throughout the day.

It wouldn't be as bad if they didn't march around waving the Constitution

The Tea Party would have been the Loyalists in the War of Independence, would have been the anti-federalists in 1788. No use for them exists, nothing worthwhile anyway.

Well... one things for sure if The Lady O'Donnell wins.. Democrats are looking at a land slide across the country..

mmm that could explain all this.. leftist media hoopla...

Now who are we to believe concerning what the Founders meant when they wrote the First Amendment? Christine O'Donnel, or Thomas Jefferson?

You got it all wrong, OR! We are to believe Jack Fate and Revere!!

Mike Castle was fired because he is a RINO.
ANd it was not "all of the sudden". Castle lost in the Primary.
You've been listening to Karl Rove a bit ,haven't you?
Look, mainastream status quo republicans are the ones who are crying over Tea Party candidates beating other mainstream status quo republicans. Quite frankly ,if these people lost Primaries, they deserved to lose because they are not conservatives.
We are not electing a Jersey. We are affecting change in the GOP. We want conservative leadership in Washington. Not the old guard RINO's who tried the "big tent" and wanted to "reach across the aisle"... The ones that started that crap got the boot on Nov 2008.

It was all of the sudden--the robocalls were made right before the primary. The republicans took Palin's advice without researching who O'Donnell actually was. Now that they are hearing her and discovering that she really hasn't done anything. A lot of people felt that Mike Castle could win as a write-in candidate, but he declined. He was the one who was projected to take over the election--not O'Donnell. This is the third time that nitwit has run since she was fired from her last job in 2004. No one ever took her seriously until Palin had those phone calls done. Then people blindly voted for her.

No, I don't listen to Karl Rove.

She would certainly do better if she went after his record.

He's a tax raiser plus.

The good people of Del have quite a choice. O'Donnell an unknown and Coons a self avowed Marxist.

Sheesh. Glad I don't live in Delaware.

Coons is a "self-avowed Marxist" the same way O'Donnell is a "self-avowed Witch".

See how that works?

Like it?

Then Coons isn't a marxist and O'Donnell isn't a witch. It's amazing how dumb out citizenry has become.

Stupidity, apparently, is contagious. Though maybe Christine wished she could throw a spell and change some of that last debate. I know what she was trying to say, but, oh my, how she said it!

she won't win, but hopefully she won't go away after her 15 minutes of fame.
Fox, Palin's water boy, dancing with the stars.

I don't expect the run of the mill person to know what amendments cover what, or even have much understanding of the Constitution.

I expect anyone who is going to use their important vote for leaders of this country who are elected to defend the constitution, to actually know what's written in the constitution.

I'm not really sure how we could actually get competent leadership otherwise.

Yeah right.
I am sure a simple phoine call persuaded all the Castle supporters to change their minds and vote for O'Donnell..
Now , think for a moment how illogical that appears.
You can believe what you wish. Castle's record as a left leaning moderate republican got him fired.
And of course you have evidence that "people bilindly voted for her".
Look, if you want to be left behind with the old wishy washy GOP establishment, it's your choice.
Good night and good luck to you.

Or Obama omitting "by their creator" when he recited the Declaration of Independence.

Twice.

Reputable, objective source, please.
Obama Omits "Creator" from Declaration of Independence -- AGAIN
Also see whitehouse.gov for the entire transcript.
Why is it you havwe such a problem accepting the fact that Obama is indeed not well versed and in fact is in some cases deliberate in choosing his words depedning on his audience.
Obama clains to be a Christian. Ok, for a moment let's stipulate for the record that's true and accurate.
Why Obama would leave out such an important part of that sentence is a question that will burn into the memories of each us.
I believe the omission of "be their creator" was deliberate.
