Gingrich gives an admission that "the age of party leaders picking people is over."

It would appear he has come away with the knowledge that there is a new era within the Republican Party - led in great part by Sarah Palin, calling it "an entire movement."

___

On Saturday, Mr. Gingrich released a statement throwing his support to Mr. Hoffman.

"The age of party leaders picking people is over," Mr. Gingrich said...

This was not an isolated amateur; this is an entire movement." Mr. Gingrich said.

Newt is throwing in the towel and buying at the top. Not uncommon. His original instincts will be proven correct.

Time will tell that your assessment is totally and completely wrong.

OOPS!!!

Pay attention to me. My expert advice is free, and almost always right.

But wait--did not Gingrich pick Hoffman after he realized his first pick was going down in flames?

He bought at the top. Gingrich jumped on the Hoffman bandwagon at the peak of his fortunes. He bought the nonsense that Hoffman was a lock. He did the political version of buying pets.com at a $100 a share.

Pelosi calls the Hoffman loss a "victory". When the real congressman (Sec'y of the Army)wants his seat back, its his. Basically Obama pulled one seat away from the GOP by making a republican sec'y of the army.

And it never would have gone Democrat if the outside meddlers had just allowed local politics to play its course. By jumping on the bandwagon and forcing Hoffman down peoples throats they gave the seat to the Democrats.
What happens when the seat is up again in 2010? It will probably go back to republican if Palin and company stay out of it. You need to allow eastern republicans to run on an eastern republican platform. And yes, that may involve being pro-healthcare, pro- choice and pro- gay marriage

I disagree. Main and all other state balloting proved being pro-gay is a loser, Gay marriage on a ballot always lost. Even black voters vote against the gay agenda. pro-choice is probably a non-issue up north. UHC is a bad idea, its income redistribution to illegals et.al. besides, we simply can't afford it. I'd rather see SS & Medicare made solvent.

You don't know that. You presume too much.
