NY23 - Election Miracle?

Just a guess...but the economy may not be as big an issue a year from now

Neither will healthcare

Election 2009 is almost upon us!

Then we prepare for 2010... :)

Its going to be fun Mr Sinatra

Alot is going to happen between now and next November. What we see as the big issues now may not be so big a year from now

Agreed - but in politics, it always comes down to the big Mo, and that appears to favor the Republicans right now.

That could change though...

The economy "won't" be an issue a year from now??---:lol:

Hey the democrat party made the economy an issue when we had 4.7% unemployment--now it's up to 10%.

Hoffman will win and Obama will be denied the Booby Prize...

If Hoffman wins it will be a stunning political event.

The libs from the White House on down will attempt to spin it otherwise, but you take this race and the Virginia race - if both go Republican, that is a telling sign for things to come in 2010...

I don't see what there is to spin. This is an internal power struggle for the republicans. This district has always gone republican, so a republican or conservative winning does not reflect a major loss for the Dems.
But if they split their vote, and a Dem wins....it will be a major embarassment for the republicans
If you think this embarasses Obama, you have much to learn. Obama pulled republican Congressman McHugh to be his Secretary of the Army. If McHughs district turns around and elects a Democrat it will be a major coup for Obama

If the seat is lost to Republicans because they ran a Democrat in sheep's clothing, then so be it. Some things are worth more than the immediate outcome and doing what's safe. If people truly expect Congress to start to remember "we the people", then it's time they started voting their convictions.

Totally agree. We do not want Republicans that spend like Democrats. It is time to out the Hypocrites. We do not need two Democratic Parties. The Less insane and the more insane. Time to Stand on Principle. Establish, Clarify, and make a stand.

The blind can't lead the blind. They can spend, they can appease, they can delay, misinform, corrupt, Pay Off, Bribe, what they can't do is Govern. Reality always gets in the way.

The Newt's have not learned this lesson yet. Don't let them hi-jack the movement.

Virginia has not voted for a Republican governor in just over 10 years.

That appears to be changing this year.

Eight. The Democrats have held the Virginia governorship the past two terms.

Check yer math pard.

Virginia has not voted for a Republican governor in over 10 years - last time a Republican won the governor's seat in Virginia was 1998...

I think your interpretation of "We the people" is a bit off.

"We the people" saw what the republicans did to this country over an eight year reign of terror. As a result, "We the people" drove them into exile at all levels of government.

It is the existing Congress and White House that "We the people" chose to represent us, not the brooding republicans on the outside looking in

Naw that's just more sad & paranoid Hopey Changey "Us against them" B.S. Not only that but i am seeing an increasing arrogance & hubris coming from this White House and their followers. Things really can change in a hurry. They do have absolute power today but that can change tomorrow. Just way too much arrogance & hubris coming from the Hopey Changeys at this point. We are all "We the People."

"We The People" Want more than You Can deliver. Put up or shut up time. What have you repaired or improved? The Debt is Multiplied with no relief in sight, the Infrastructure is falling apart, Congress is more corrupt than ever, and you stand on your soap box screaming absurdities, caught up in your own web of delusion.

I have an idea... how 'bout you talk for yourself and not "we" anything....

The buzz continues for the upcoming NY23 Congressional Election.

Will Hoffman actually win? If so, it would be one of the most remarkable election upsets in some time...

All that's going to happen is that they'll split the repub vote and a dem will win the 23rd for something like the first time ever.

boy... that'll show 'em...

Anger from the right that the Democrats haven't been fast enough fixing what the right f'ed up.

Priceless.

What's priceless is your perception, the problem is compounded, not left adrift. The Threat is Tyranny, more now than bad debt management. You can buy your way out of problems with the Police State for only so long. You blame Republicans, You Fuck. We were attacked. Our Way Of Life is under attack, You Fuck. You still blame Bush, and make excuses for every concession we make with mortal enemies. Priceless.

Who are You to Limit what I say? What Justifies this comment? :eusa_naughty::eusa_naughty::eusa_naughty:

We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Could I get some cheese with this whine????

Obama took the 23rd by about 5 points.

A conservative victory would be significant.

A close conservative loss would be less significant.

A narrow Democrat win would be insignificant.

A substantial Democrat win would be less insignifcant...
