No statue for Robert E Lee but black ex-con Marion Barry gets one.

Texas v. White says unilateral secession is unconstitutional.

But the constitution never says that and Courts have no authority to rewrite the constitution. If you want to change the constitution, you have to go thru the amending process. THINK

. The US didn't secede from Britain....they declared independence and had a revolution.

OMG - Did you really post that?? It's a joke post, right? RIGHT???
The only thing thats a joke is your level of intellect. The didnt call it the secession of independence or the secession war. Words are important and were very important back then so they chose their words carefully. I suggest you get some remedial training on your own native tongue.

There's a difference between being able to secede peacefully and with the consent of the US federal govt and doing it forcefully.

Think the UK leaving the EU... it's peaceful, done with the consent of both parties. The South didn't do this.

Think of the original 13 colonies seceding from england. Was that peaceful? THINK.

He's wrong.... it was treason and it was secession, the only difference was the US won.
nope. Secession is what it sounds like. Its a formal notice to withdraw from a larger entity. Revolution is the literal overthrow of a government. You can look the terms up in any dictionary.

They didn't rewrite the Constitution. They interpreted the constitution. So, fail. They also didn't change the constitution. Unless of course you can show me the part of the Constitution they changed and the new part of the Constitution they wrote.

I wait in anticipation of your futile efforts.

No it wasn't. And I've said multiple times that it was treason. READ!

During independence they didn't even try and overthrow the British government. They tried to leave Britain, just as the South tried to leave the USA. There's no difference other than the South lost and the US won both times.

Big difference was that the south were states seen as equal members of the union. The colonies did not have any status other than money making ventures. Huge difference and thats why its called the American Revolution instead of the American Seccession. The only thing they share in common was that they were both forms of treason.

The IMPORTANT word is UNILATERAL. Go look it up.

It doesn't matter whether they were seen as equal or not, they tried to leave the union WITHOUT permission.

And US law did not change, treason was still treason and as the South lost then they were deemed to have been in the Union for the whole of the Civil War.

It does matter. Thats why no one says it was secession. It was revolution.

The American Revolution … Not the American Secession

Secession Week: Wednesday – Secession vs. Revolution

"Revolution and Secession are very different things. Revolution is an attempt by a relatively small group of people to gain control over the machinery that rules a relatively larger group of people. Secession is a relatively small group of people breaking off from the larger machinery. The difference is crucial."

Exactly. The South seceded. They had no interest in overthrowing the Union govt. Of course when the union invaded the south, the south had to fight back.

It doesn't matter whether they were seen as equal or not, they tried to leave the union WITHOUT permission.

.

Permission??? Where does the constitution say permission is needed.

Fact is the subject of secession is never mentioned in the constitution and so, by the tenth amendment, the states have it.

They didn't rewrite the Constitution. They interpreted the constitution.

HAHAHA. That's what you libs always say and it doesn't work. People are onto that scam.

I asked you to provide evidence of where the Constitution has been rewritten in this case. You clearly can't present a single piece of evidence because the Court did NOT change the Constitution.

So, your tactic is to ignore most of what I say and then just laugh and make some comment about Liberals.

Lame.

Okay then, you go and tell the US govt that you're seceding from the USA and see what happens.

This is about POWER. The US has the power. They can come and do whatever the fuck they like to you.

They make the rules, you don't follow the rules, they make the punishment. You don't have to like it, but you have no choice but to accept it, or leave the country.

glad to see you're admitting there is no constitutional ban on secession. To you it's a case of might makes right. That's why secession is not allowed.

The founding fathers would be appalled at your attitude. When they wrote the constitution they had just fought a war for secession from england. To them the right to secede was the ultimate states right and accepted by all americans.

No, I didn't say there was a Constitutional ban on seceding, I said there was one on unilateral secession. Go figure. Try reading.

Bending to black racists and liberal self hating white snowflakes...how embarrassing for our nation.
