DAY 2: MUELLER TEAM GETS LECTURED, LAW LAID DOWN

Mueller team lectured by judge in Manafort case

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s prosecutors were lectured by a federal judge on Wednesday for the language they’ve used in the courtroom and more, as the trial of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort entered its second day.

The Mueller team was later rebuffed again by Ellis when they tried to introduce photos that eventually would become public of Manafort’s closets filled with suits and high-end clothing.

While it’s part of their effort to paint Manafort as a tax scofflaw who spent big on luxury items, Ellis would not allow the photos for now.

Mueller trying to turn court room into class warfare arena, putting having money on trial?!

Nothing that goes on in that Court Room surprises me. The Judge has told the Feds that only certain evidence is going to be admitted, and it appears that is going to be the case. He wants evidence of the crime admitted. He appears not to allow the Democratic trick of wealth as a factor. The Judge needs a pat on the back for hisrulings.

So sounds like you are pro money laundering. You know free money without taxes.

We'll see soon enough if Mr. Manafort is an innocent as a newborn babe, as I'm guessing he'll be exonerated.

Mueller is just pissed off that Manafort refuses to lie and implicate President Trump.

The Feds announced they're not even going to call Gates to testify. So there goes their headliner witness.

Now think about that. They don't even dare call Gates as Manafort's lawyers will totally destroy his credibility which will create reasonably doubt. Manafort's lawyers should call Rosenstein to testify why he dropped the case a decade ago.

The judge told Mueller that this trial would not be used as a vehicle to attack Trump. Now Mueller can't attack wealth. More than half his case is gone. It will be over next week.

Manafort is so fuked.

Looks so bad for him that the prosecution will probably rest next week.

Manafort keeps trying to blame it on Gates.
Hilarious.
Gates carries a backpack.
Manafort wears four years of suits worth more than what Gates made in four years.

Manafort bought houses, landscaping, suits and other extravagant items using wire transfers from Cyprus to avoid paying taxes. That's where he's fuked the most.

Second is fraud. Lying to banks to get loans. He got a 16 million dollar loan right here in Chicago. The loan was a quarter of the bank's assets. The people working at the bank are now witnesses.

Manafort is fuked.

Perhaps what Gates has to say will be beneficial to Mr. Manafort's case?

I would not be surprised to see him called by the defense- if the case gets that far.

There is a good chance that the charges will be dismissed after the Persecution finishes their case

Let's use the "F"word......................FELONY!

Manafort has 18 felony charges against him in this trial and 7 more in the next.

They only need to find him guilty of 1. That's all, just one. Because each one carries a sentence of at least 10 years.

Are you mad, Manafort is going to prison.

They have to have a unanimous verdict, and find the man guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

That reasonable doubt is already there.

Personally, I would not be surprised if President Trump exonerates the gentleman after Mueller finishes his case. The right to Pardon is sancrosanct.

Oh yea!

Let's call Gates!

So beneficial.

Every single witness was asked who Gates was. Some said they saw him on TV. But that's it.

All those people being paid off by Manafort and not a single one knew who Gates was.

Makes him sound not very involved. THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF THE MANAFORT DEFENSE.

Oops!

Manafort had especially relied on Rick Gates, his business associate and now the prosecution's star witness, but that trust was misplaced.

The Latest: Defense: Manafort trusted others to handle money

Manafort had like 30 bank accounts all over the world to avoid paying taxes.

But he relied on Gates?

Wanna bet Gates didn't even know about all those accounts?

I agree! The documents and hard facts speak for themselves. If the jury has a functional brain - Manafort is toast.

Oh wow, so you've seen t he evidence?

Neato!
It's called news. It's everywhere.

Manafort accused of amassing 'secret income' as trial opens

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Paul Manafort orchestrated a multimillion-dollar conspiracy to evade U.S. tax and banking laws, leaving behind a trail of lies as he lived a lavish lifestyle, prosecutors said as they laid out their case against the former Trump campaign chairman.

Prosecutor Uzo Asonye told the jury during his opening statement Tuesday that Manafort considered himself above the law as he funneled tens of millions of dollars through offshore accounts. That “secret income” was used to pay for personal expenses such as a $21,000 watch, a $15,000 jacket made of ostrich and more than $6 million worth of real estate paid for in cash, Asonye said.

Manafort is toast.
