Manafort Trial

Manafort keeps trying to blame it on Gates.
Hilarious.
Gates carries a backpack.
Manafort wears four years of suits worth more than what Gates made in four years.

Manafort bought houses, landscaping, suits and other extravagant items using wire transfers from Cyprus to avoid paying taxes. That's where he's fuked the most.

Second is fraud. Lying to banks to get loans. He got a 16 million dollar loan right here in Chicago. The loan was a quarter of the bank's assets. The people working at the bank are now witnesses.

Manafort is fuked.
You could probably put half the people with a mortgage in prison for that crime.

You can't hide 30 formally secret bank accounts overseas.
You can't hide 60 million dollars after they've found it and identified it.
You can't hide the FACT you never paid taxes..

If the evidence was obtained by an improper search warrant or fraudulent information on the search warrant application, the evidence is excluded at trial.

Further, the facts are that a lot of people had a lot bigger disputes with the IRS than this little bit of cash. Warren Buffett had or has a billion dollar dispute. If mistakes are made, the IRS can say you owe them money, but it isn't a criminal offense unless you had a suitable mens rea.
Fuk Warren Buffett. He's not on trial.

Manafort is. By professionals who don't make mistakes.

Manafort is fuked.

They don't make mistakes?

Andrew Weissmann: Robert Mueller's dirty cop
  • In 1997 Andrew Weissmann was officially reprimanded by a judge in the Eastern District of New York for withholding evidence
  • Weissmann was reported to the Department of Justice Inspector General and Senate Judiciary Committee for alleged “corrupt legal practices.
  • A formal letter from U.S. Attorney Eastern District of New York Zachary Carter requested the judge to remove Weissman’s name, according to documents.
  • Civil rights and Criminal Defense Attorney David Schoen said Weissmann needs to be investigated for alleged past misconduct in court cases.
More specifically, Weissmann withheld evidence to a court that would have helped the other side in a criminal case, which is required by law. In that previous case:

Evidence suggested that Scarpa was involved in a personal relationship with his FBI handler, Lindley DeVecchio. DeVeccio, who was also a witness in a case connected to the Persico case. Weissmann had DeVecchio testify against Michael Sessa, a captain in the Colombo family, despite knowing DeVecchio was under investigation by the FBI for his relationship with Scarpa. Weissmann and his team failed disclose that to the courts and presented him as a solid witness in the case, according to Schoen and court documents.
Then there was the Arthur Andersen case, which with Weissmann, shows a pattern of malfeasance. According to the Daily Beast:

During his years at the Justice Department, Weissmann built a reputation as a prosecutor willing to push the envelope – sometimes with disastrous results. He worked on the Justice Department’s Enron probe from 2002 to 2005. And while he was there, he helmed the prosecution of Arthur Andersen, Enron’s accounting firm, arguing that it had obstructed justice by destroying documents investigators would have needed.

Weissmann and his team took the aggressive step of indicting the entire accounting firm. According to a source familiar with the case, the firm’s defense attorneys met with them [and asked Weissmann and his team] not to do so before the indictment, arguing that the firm would be certain to dissolve if it were indicted, leaving thousands of people jobless.

“Their response indicated they didn’t care,” said the person familiar with the case.

Some food for thought...

Mueller could lose this.....he sent in a bunch of eye rolling disrespectful Trump haters into court and Judge Ellis ain't having any of it....Ellis said he doesn't expect this trial to last the three weeks he estimated.....

Let's use the "F"word......................FELONY!

Manafort has 18 felony charges against him in this trial and 7 more in the next.

They only need to find him guilty of 1. That's all, just one. Because each one carries a sentence of at least 10 years.

They have to have a unanimous verdict, and find the man guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

That reasonable doubt is already there.

Personally, I would not be surprised if President Trump exonerates the gentleman after Mueller finishes his case. The right to Pardon is sancrosanct.

You can't hide the FACT you never paid taxes.
You can't hide the fact that he committed bank fraud and the president of the bank agreed to testify against him for immunity.

Manafort is fuked.

His only hope is to be pardoned by Trump AFTER he's found guilty in a court of law.

And that will make Trump look oh so good.
So if Manafort has committed all these nefarious deeds that he's now charged with, why wasn't he prosecuted years ago when the FBI learned of his alleged transgressions? Why wait until now? Curious don't you think?

DAY 2: MUELLER TEAM GETS LECTURED, LAW LAID DOWN

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s prosecutors were lectured by a federal judge on Wednesday for the language they’ve used in the courtroom and more, as the trial of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort entered its second day.

The Mueller team was later rebuffed again by Ellis when they tried to introduce photos that eventually would become public of Manafort’s closets filled with suits and high-end clothing.

While it’s part of their effort to paint Manafort as a tax scofflaw who spent big on luxury items, Ellis would not allow the photos for now.

Mueller trying to turn court room into class warfare arena, putting having money on trial?!
The guy has to be a commie. He thinks Manafort is a bourgeois capitalist pig, as do many of the leaders of the Democrats these days.

The GREAT RUSSIA CASE..............

2005 to 2007 Tax evasion............Russia Russia Russia.......:boohoo:
Well said. How desperate they must be, but they don't care. It's something they can squeeze Manafort with, hoping he'll "sing" or "compose". Manafort isn't some sleazy gangster, so there won't be any "singing". Mueller has been watching too many old detective movies.

The last time I saw a slam dunk case fall apart like this was the McMartin preschool case.

If you look into any person's history you'll find something you can take to court, with very rare exception. There are mountains of rules and there's no way a business can survive without breaking a couple over the years.

Sounds like the right ruling. That evidence isn’t relevant
