I've come to the conclusion that there is a difference between the two terms liberal and leftist.

The liberal still believes people should have rights, even if those rights conflict with their own. Also, they believe that people should be free to speak their minds even if they don't agree.

The Leftist, however, thinks that only they should have rights, and anyone who disagrees with them is either a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, a retard, insane, or a combination thereof and must be silenced at any cost.

I will also concede that the Demagogues in the DNC will most likely round up both their votes, so I'm not really sure the distinction really matters.

I always like to use the term progressive statists for our current crop of hard lefties.

They are going to make "progress" via government, and if you don't like it they will use said government along with social pressure to crush you any way they can.
