    Obama wins.

No sitting dem has been beaten by a gop moderate, and Mitt is as moderate as milk toast.

Only man to ever beat a sitting dem?

    Reagan.

    An 80's conservative.

So all you people out there telling us we need to back Mitt so we can unite under his waffle.

Grats, you are guaranteeing that Obama wins.

    Shhhh... Romney is electable.

    That's the mantra.

    Here's some nice Koolaid.

Actually, I think the GOP has bigger problems than who the nominee is this time. They need to stop alienating hispanics and working folks and women. And they can win them over without comprimising conservative ideals. But they need to change the rhetoric and the tone.

    That's the liberal rhetoric.

Standing up for yourself and taking care of yourself, only alienates people that don't want to do those things.

Hey, I'm all for people taking care of themselves.

Too bad the GOP is making so many people dependent on government by shipping all the good jobs to china and protecting the oooh, so important Billionaires.

The GOP Has a problem with the groups listed above. Period. Because they can't see them.

They are too in love with billionaires to see that working folks are hurting.

They are too in love with Minutemen Nativists to see how that puts off Hispanics.

They are too in love with Religious Zealots to see that in the real world, women need birth control.

THAT'S why the GOP is losing right now. and they'll keep losing until they get their heads out of their asses and address these issues.

Unfortunately, Romney is such an awful, flawed candidate that he'll get all the blame for November's debacle.

And yet the Romneybot is the only one that comes anywhere close to beating President Obama according to polling. What does that tell you?

    People really hate Obama.

    and People deeply despised Carter.

    BUT

There was a vast difference between Reagan and Carter. There is not much between Mitt )his record, not words) and Obama.

    except rhetoric.

It tells me that the other candidates weren't all that good. Not so much idealogy.

let's be blunt. We are where we are at because teh GOP Establishment wanted a candidate and did all it could to undermine everyone else. The Rank and File didn't want this candidate, but they really didn't find anyone who moved them to rally around.

If Tim Pawlenty hadn't panicked after Ames, he'd be where Santorum is right now. And he wouldn't hvae all the baggage.

I think the thing is that the media did about half Romney's work for it, digging up all sorts of dirt on Newt and Rick. (Not to mention the guys they eliminated previously. Oh, if only they showed the kind of diligence about Clinton's sex life they did with Herman Cains.)

I suspect that Romney's charmed life is about to come to an end, though.

Some people really hate Obama. Some people really like him.

The people who hate him weren't the ones who were going to turn this election, anyway.

The people will turn this election will be the ones who are indifferent, but can be won over.

And that guy isn't Mitt Romney. Mitt Romney's biggest problem is the more people get to knw him, the less the like him. Time is not Mitt Romney's friend here.

It isn't so much about idealogy. People didn't elect Reagan for his idealogy, they elected him because they felt a connection to him. He was the loveable old uncle who was reassuring.

Romney is the creepy guy who lays you off with a half-assed apology.

Both sides are riddled by corruption. Anyone who believes in either side needs their head examined.

So if Romney gets the nod would it be because he best represents today's GOP or would it be because the Citizens United ruling blew up in the conservatives faces?
