Huckabee Out

Not surprised he isn't in. He cares more about money and being the center of attention. He has both with his show. Why give that up?

Where is all the enthusiasm from the right?

We should be getting daily threads about the merits of Gingriches policies, about what Trump will do for this country, the charisma of Mitch Daniels on why Romney is the best hope for America

All we get is silence. An occaisional Cain or Paul thread from the loyal Tea party but where is mainstream Republican America?

The silence is deafening

Perhaps some are viewing the "Suicide" thread.

Gays have exactly the same rights to marry as anyone else anywhere in this country. Please show me where they don't.

Your argument is old...it is so old that it was made when right wingers like yourself were arguing against interracial marriage. A Republican congressman from Illinois argued that bans on interracial marriage were not discrimination because they applied equally to men and women. That's the argument you are using...gays aren't discriminated against because they can marry people of the opposite sex. I'm sure this comes as no shock to you, but we don't want to marry people of the opposite sex. We want to marry our partners.

Wow trotting out the old civil rights analogy again. Unfortunately the two aren't remotely comparable. When a black went to get married he was asked what race he was. When a gay goes to get married no one asks.
What gays want are extra rights over what the rest of us have.
And no one is stopping you from marrying your butt-buddy. Get on with it.

No one is comparing the civil rights struggles to each other, they are wildly different. What is compared is discrimination, which is the exact same. Blacks could not marry whites and it those in support of interracial marriage bans did NOT consider it discrimination for the exact same reasons you don't think denying gays and lesbians the fundamental right to marry the consenting adult partner of their choice is discrimination.

Did those in support of interracial marriage want "extra rights"? What "extra rights" do gays and lesbians want?
