NEW YORK (Reuters) - The largest U.S. civil rights group plans to file a complaint on Thursday over the admissions test at New York City's specialized high schools, among the nation's most elite public schools, citing effective discrimination against black and Latino students, the group said.
The complaint with the U.S. Department of Education focuses on eight schools in the city, particularly on Stuyvesant High and Bronx Science, which boast stellar alumni including several Nobel laureates, famed actors and musicians, and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
While more than half the population of New York City is black or Latino, black students made up only 1.2 percent of the Stuyvesant student body last year, while Latino students represented 2.4 percent, city data showed.

Rapper Himanshu Suri, who was vice president of the Stuyvesant student union from 2001 to 2002, said knowledge of and preparation for the test varied widely across neighborhoods, and that the school, where Asians make up more than two-thirds of the student body, suffered for its lack of diversity.

"These are schools for the brightest students in New York City," he added. "We're saying something wrong if we're saying New York City's brightest students are almost all Chinese or Korean."

There is ONE explanation for the disparate impact in admissions at Stuyvesant. Perhaps the test is actually written in Chinese or Korean. Has anyone here actually seen the test? Has anyone wondered who is composing the questions on those tests? Perhaps there is a local Asian consortium that has a hand in the process. Perhaps the composition of the tests have been outsourced to China.LOL

There is more to this than simply studying hard and motivation. After all, if Asians are so much smarter than the rest of us, why don't they rule the world? Why do they have a need to come here to this "land of inferior minds" to get a first rate education when their homeland should have far superior cerebral resources? Could it be that the socio-environmental forces that kept them down in China didn't apply to them in America, but, similar forces in the form of slavery, racism, oppression and discrimination might be the general sources of academic paucity in some American born Blacks?

Asians have been painted as "model minorities" while Blacks and Latinos have been castigated and prejudged as being generally dumb and lazy when it comes to cognitive skills. But, as the article shows, whites are not performing so well either. However, there is no mention of causal factors for white failures.

Nevertheless, a silent storm has been brewing for many years under the radar. Black African Immigrants are now the most highly educated group in Britain AND the USA!

I'm believing the main goal is not "equal rights" but revenge against whites for perceived wrongs.

Of course the NAACP doesn't care about equal rights. If they did, they would oppose affirmative action. Their only goal is to take from whites and give to blacks.
