With 12 states having voted in same sex marriage. Add in California where same sex marriage is now very popular....and you have 13 states. Breaking your '3/4 majority'' necessary for an amendment.

An amendment against gay marriage isn't happening, it's more popular than ever, supported easily by a majority of the public.
