The last thing on earth they wanted was a large Federal Govt. That is why they Enumerated its power.

They also Hated a pure Democracy and chose a Republic. They wrote about the danger of 50 plus 1 over 50 minus 1.

So they would Hate you leftist asses with a passion.

no. it was not an issue , kondor, for better or worse slavery was a fact of life.
Too many forget we are in a different time. At that time Slavery was ending but still normal.

Fuedalism was slavery to those being ruled as well. Do as we say or we will starve your family.

You want to uphold the goals of a bunch of white authoritarian dictators. At least the slavers had higher standards in mind than the absolutely control and subjugation of the population. Trump promises to declare himself dictator the day after he's sworn in, and he'll call out the army to shoot anyone who protests.

How stupid are you???
I hope to all fuck that Trump declares himself emperor and starts round ups of democrats coast to coast. What democrats have always ends in dictatorship, Ceasar, Napoleon, Hitler, why not Trump? Once the Rubicon of jailing political opponents and controlling is crossed all bets are off.

Well we screwed up Washington's advice to avoid foreign entanglements pretty bad. Eisenhower's warning about the MIC fell on deaf ears too. I would say no, we have a new set of goals, and they are not defined very well.

A Republic is a "pure democracy". There are no non-democratic "republics". Even the poor slobs in North Korea and Russia get to vote. But they only get to vote for one candidate.

The Electoral College, and the separation of powers were done in order to prevent someone like Donald Trump from being elected President, or from having enough power too destroy the nation, if they succeeded.

Trump and his supporters have spent the last 6 years trying to find ways to subvert those guardrails, and have now decided that they only way to do it is to seize power and "ignore" the Constitution.

As for "leftist asses", your Founders were promoting the mostly wildly radical "leftist powers" in the history of the world. Refuting the "divine right of Kings".

I love it when Trump Cult members reveal their abject ignorance of the Constitution and spout the ignorant brain washed lies Republicans have been spewing about the Constitution since Reagan was in office.

BS

Oh, it was a fact-of-life, alright... for enslaved Blacks, certainly, but only for a tiny miniscule collection of Whites.

Other than those White Folk in Southern States who actually owned them or dealt with them routinely...

Neither those non-owning Southerners, nor virtually the entire White population of the North, barely gave 'em a thought...

Up North, except for Abolitionists and the occasional astute politician, slaves were not part of the Northern White universe...

Most Northern Whites had never even SEEN a Black before... or only ever-so-rarely... slaves were an afterthought, at best...

A dinner table conversation piece in the last decade or so leading up to the Civil War, but really not much more than that...

Or something for the bible-thumpers to prattle-on about on the Sabbath but not something part of day-to-day lives...

If you were suddenly transported back in time to 1840s or 1850s America and looked and asked-around...

You would find that hardly anybody really gave two $hits about it and were far too busy living their lives to bother...

Your modern-day focus on it does not jive with the Reality for most Americans back then.

Has there every being a successful authoritarian dictatorship that didn't devolve into a murderous rampage?

Napolean, Hilter, Saddam Hussein, Mao, Stalin, Castro, Pol Pot, Putin, Xi, Kim?

Please tell us about all of the kind;y benevolent dictators who made their countries great again. How many of these countries have enjoyed peace and prosperity under their beloved dictators?

That is the whole fucking point and why democrats need to be stopped, cold. Then the cold frozen. But it won't happen. So, bring on the dictatorship.

Indeed. Nolo contendre. Although changes in the American map and global involvement and population would temper that.

Good thing for me, then, that I'm not a Leftist, eh? You nominate Nikki Haley and I'll vote right alongside you.

The ONLY authoritarian running for office is Donald Trump. You seem very confused as to who the danger to the American people really is.

But then you've never seemed to be particularly smart or well read.

Good. We are better then them.

The Constitution for its time was a Big Government document when compared to the Articles of Confederation.

The Democratic Republican resurgency beginning in 1801 reined and restricted it for another 60 years.

The Lincoln said, "Hold my beer."

They also didn't want the USA to get involved in European wars or colonialism. The Founders were merchants and businessmen, who had seen European wars over religion or territory drain the public coffers, destroy nations and kill thousands. The Founders wanted a peaceful nation, free of religious interference in government, where a man rose or fell on his abilities and his worth ethic, not by virtue of the station of his birth.

The Foundes wrote a constitution for a small, coastal, agrarian nation with a population of fewer than 5 million people.

They gave more power to the states because weather conditions and growing conditions varied so markedly from the Northern States to the Southetn States that each state needed the ability to tailor their laws to their state’s climate and economic realities.

The population in general, grew up, lived and died within a 50 miles radius of where they were born.

They didn’t envision a sprawling coast to coast nation with a mobile population of 300 million people.

But they did envision the need for changes to the original constitution, something that modern Americans have ceased doing.
