Are Democrats Putting An End To Freedom And Prosperity?

are democrats putting an end to freedom and prosperity?

Yes

Repudlicans are just as guilty.

The size, scope, power and cost of government has been increasing under both political parties. And when the size, scope, power and cost of government grow, by necessity, your freedoms shrink.

I'm not being a partisan when I say Obama is a damn fool for spending as much as he has. Not only will excessive spending, as we've seen (and I protested) during the Bush years, stifle economic growth, our dollar will collapse if no one is stupid enough to lend us that money. Chinese are saying they're unwilling to lend us any more. Saudis are probably equally as wary.

Any thread such as this which faults the DEMCORATS but fails to note that the REPUBLICANS are just as bad, possibly worse is nothing more than partisan trolling nonsense.

Kudos to you conservatives who have the balls to acknowledge that both parties are parasites on the body politic.

Although the Democrats are definitely screwing over the nation, I think the Republicans got a jump on it when they introduced the Federal Reserve, the income tax, the IRS, and the CIA, all in about the same period of time.

And don't forget that it was the Republicans who first screwed over the South by imposing impossible trade restrictions in the early 1800s, leading to the worst war in American history, the Civil War. Yep, the South kept getting its hands tied, and then when it declared its own independences, the Republicans burned it to the ground.

Thanks, Republicans.

Are wack off conservatives better than wack job liberals?

What we have today is in great part due to the last 8 years of Republican rule.:cuckoo:

When the economy turns around, Obama is elected for a second term, they will still find something to wine about. MD20 20 is their motto.

:clap2:No both parties extremes are too far gone.

:evil:King George the II took away more of our freedom than the next 4 presidents ever will.

:eusa_liar::cuckoo: It will, always has, always will be cyclical, too bad King George the II didn't heed any of the economic warning signs.

Add-The economic melt down wasn't because of one failed bill during W's term, it wasn't the fact that King George the I perpetuated Ronald RayGun's trickle down theory, or that Slick Willie continued on same as all the rest, it's a combination of all the above and much much more...

"The current Stock Market fiasco is a prime example of this. The Democrats were active in promoting sub-prime lending without oversight early in the Bush administration. President Bush recognized that the lending practices were unsound and submitted a bill to Congress for corrective action, but the Democrats blocked the bill and a melt down of the Stock Market ensued."

Thank you. It's about time some truth was pointed out. It seems our media is :cuckoo:

Hmmm.

The Democrats, who did not control either house or the WH are the reason that greater regulation wasn't passed?

This Republican tells a little different story:

The critics have forgotten that the House passed a GSE reform bill in 2005 that could well have prevented the current crisis, says Mr Oxley, now vice-chairman of Nasdaq.

He fumes about the criticism of his House colleagues. “All the handwringing and bedwetting is going on without remembering how the House stepped up on this,” he says. “What did we get from the White House? We got a one-finger salute

The House bill, the 2005 Federal Housing Finance Reform Act, would have created a stronger regulator with new powers to increase capital at Fannie and Freddie, to limit their portfolios and to deal with the possibility of receivership.

Mr Oxley reached out to Barney Frank, then the ranking Democrat on the committee and now its chairman, to secure support on the other side of the aisle. But after winning bipartisan support in the House, where the bill passed by 331 to 90 votes, the legislation lacked a champion in the Senate and faced hostility from the Bush administration. Adamant that the only solution to the problems posed by Fannie and Freddie was their privatisation, the White House attacked the bill. Mr Greenspan also weighed in, saying that the House legislation was worse than no bill at all.

Thanks, Republicans.

My Great Grandfather fought in that war. Fort Donaldson, Shiloh, and many other places. 11th Illinois Infantry. He fought on the right side.

No doubt. In fact, I would say they are more to blame than the Democrats. With the Democratic Party, freedom-loving Americans expect them to end freedom and prosperity. That is just who they are. And in the absence of a principled GOP, the Democrats will surely get elected.

I equate it to a downward spiral ... we who are not so blind to the party leaders we use to support are just finally noticing it as such, or finally coming to an age which we can understand it better (as is my case).

The 2010 election should be an interesting one. I'm just curious if the "fat cat syndrome" doesn't strike the dems. If this economy doesn't turn around with all the spending, the dems could be toast

Yeah....and if they even so much as touch the 2A , they're gonna be crucified.

I think there is some kind of rule on how many rights you're allowed to violate per election cycle.

As the wingnuts go over the edge and take out innocent people by the dozen on more than a weekly basis, it will be the voting majority of Americans that decide that there has to be some control on who owns guns. You folks are creating the problem with your damned constant talk of armed revolution, and victum complex because you are now in the minority. I speak as a gun owner.

Are Democrats Putting An End To Freedom And Prosperity?

Did we have freedom and properity BEFORE Obama took office?

Looks to me like Obama is simply continuing the same failed policies that Bush II had in place, and he continued the same failing policies that Clinton had in place, and on and on and on.

I think the premise of your rhetorical question is completely screwy, sport.

I think both parties are doing their fair share when it comes to handcuffing the American people. Maybe we'll have regional warlords in another generation or so. Maybe not, but history says we will. It's a damn shame that the Dems and the GOP have taken the most powerful and prosperous nation the world has ever seen and run it into the ground.

We have a thinker .... mostly anyway. But I have nothing against personal opinions, so I'll leave that part alone. But yes, both party leaders are to blame.

So which Presidential candidate got your vote back in November?

Why don't we replace Pelosi, Reed & Obama with Palin, Romney & Rudy and see what happens.

Ya mean, what if we had put these guys in charge ?

Thanks, Republicans.

You do realize that the current Republican party didn't exist en masse at that time right? Lincoln was the first Republican president, the so called Republican party of that day turned into today's Democratic party.

Let's also not forget that the Democrats are infamous for protecting the South's right to own slaves and expand slavery to new territories, of course that doesn't count as infringing on someone's rights does it?

well as long as there are political parties this nation will continue to fall apart as George Washington warned:
"I have already intimated to you the danger of parties in the State, with particular reference to the founding of them on geographical discriminations. Let me now take a more comprehensive view, and warn you in the most solemn manner against the baneful effects of the spirit of party generally.

This spirit, unfortunately, is inseparable from our nature, having its root in the strongest passions of the human mind. It exists under different shapes in all governments, more or less stifled, controlled, or repressed; but, in those of the popular form, it is seen in its greatest rankness, and is truly their worst enemy."
so as long as you guys keep arguing between yourselves like kindergarteners with greatly expanded vocabularies , the people who want us dead will be able to with such great ease.
:(

Class warfare and racial animosity fueled by a leftist socialist Obama administration will truly lead us to question all our American values.

Oh, now that you lost an election, rebellion and sedition are okay? Sounds just like Hannity.

aren't these the same people who cried for eight years every time someone said baby bush was less than a stellar leader?

for eight years they tolerated every type of abuse. NOW they're worried?

*lol*

I agree, but he brought up that era so I replied in suit.

I despise political parties and would love one day to see them gone, unfortunately it will take a lot of work before that happens and many people these days just aren't willing to do that much work.
