It's not in the Constitution. It was part of their agreements for ratifying the Constitution. Rhode Island also made that clause. And Texas also has that clause as a condition of joining The Union.

I am proud of America; what we've accomplished and how we've been a liberator of oppressed people. That said, I'd be a patriotic goon to pretend that the people should just bow to corrupt leaders that are usurping the will of the people. I am not even saying that any state should secede. But is there not a point where secession is a relevant topic? Or do you say it doesn't matter, the government owns you?
