America was FOUNDED on secession

It's not nonsense, it's the reality, any state that even attempted such a folly would be declared a martial law area and the leaders arrested and imprisoned.

Address the issue. Why is it ok for the original 13 colonies to secede from England but wrong for say, Florida or Wisconsin to secede from the USA.?

It wasn't OK, at least as far as England was concerned. They called it a revolt as have we. I have never heard the American Revolution referred to as the great secession.

Secessions are often not met with approval which begets wars. (OF REVOLUTION) Often hard to have one without the other.

If Texas or any one of our other beloved red states wishes to secede they have my blessing but I feel confident is saying THERE WILL BE CONSEQUENCES.

Scalia is very conservative, even he disagrees:

If there was any constitutional issue resolved by the Civil War, it is that there is no right to secede. (Hence, in the Pledge of Allegiance, “one Nation, indivisible.”) Secondly, I find it difficult to envision who the parties to this lawsuit might be. Is the State suing the United States for a declaratory judgment? But the United States cannot be sued without its consent, and it has not consented to this sort of suit.
I am sure that poetic license can overcome all that — but you do not need legal advice for that. Good luck with your screenplay.

With so many states refusing to implement Obamacare and talking of secession, it's important to remember that the original 13 colonies seceded from England. Liberals say secession is treason but that's nonsense.

The leaders of the American Revolution acknowledged that what they were doing was treason.

Remember that well worn line about hanging together, hanging separately?

Yep. Unilateral secession was illegal (and this of course was in 1869, in Texas v White). If it had gone before the bloodiest war in American history was fought, it might have come out differently.

Secession was still possible, but required assent of Congress.
.

So you still insist George Washington was a traitor for supporting secession without assent of england?

Yes, to England he was a traitor.

Exactly. However they gave reasons for having to do so, that were much more compelling than any State has now, or had before the Civil war.

They had no Representation. They were subjects not citizens. :)

I wish the confederates would secede. We could build fences and balance the budget. Confederates are fat, old and they cost way too much.

Yeah go ahead, crackers.

Party like it's 1859.

...we'll be happy to move all those military facilities, and the jobs that go with them, out of the cracker states and into the true blue real America.

Enjoy your illiterate, inbred 19th century lifestyle.

The Civil War cost 600,000 Americans their life and the OP thinks Nullification or Secession is a good idea.

Anyone who agrees with him is encouraged to take a walk through anyone of our national cemetaries, read the names, date of birth and date and place of death.

When the colonies broke from England there was a war.
When the states broke from Washington, there was a war.

Ever hear of the Whiskey Rebellion? Washington was also willing to use military force against Americans to put down a rebellion.

1. They were colonies, not part of Great Britain itself like Wales or Scotland.

2. They won.

George Washington was a traitor to the British....what do you think they would have done to him if they'd captured him?

America was founded because we seceded... but that does NOT mean we have a tradition of being accepting of secession. Especially not from ourselves.

In seceding, you will be taking our land, you will be taking our people, you will be taking our resources. We will fight to get it back.

And we will win.

"Your" land? "Your" people? "Your" resources?

Winning and losing is irrelevant. Either the right to secede exists, or it doesn't. If it was wrong for the Confederates it was wrong for the Colonies.

The 10th Mountain Division is based at Ft Drum NY. Got any more disparagements to throw at them?

The "right" to secede always goes to the winners. It's a clear and simple fact.
