Here's an idealistic sociological tale I wrote about general pedestrian culture, which I think is relevant to the populism 'spirit' of our modern age (e.g., Facebook, 'TrumpUSA,' Planet Hollywood, 9/11, Starbucks, etc.).

D'Artagnan was happy that his lineage would be preserved. Generations later, his descendant Ajay Satan was born in Denmark to a well-to-do family. Ajay knew of D'Artagnan's magnificent accomplishments in the army and serving the government as a 'musketeer.' Ajay wanted to honor this ancestors' proud legacy by becoming socially incisive photojournalist, so he travelled to France and began working for the Paris Gazette. Ajay's work was well-received and he got a job offer from the New Yorker magazine (a very prestigious American publication).
Ajay lived in a nice Manhattan apartment and commuted to work everyday. He wrote revealing pieces about 'token-politics,' immigration problem-solving, and consumerism sanity. Ajay mingled with a mod night-club going social troupe in NYC and soon found himself befriended to a very influential drug-dealer named Kurt Doll. Kurt had connections to a Chechnyan anarchist group called the Anti-Bolsheviks. The Anti-Bolsheviks had established a black-market munitions operations in North America and Eurasia for the IRA and ISIS. Kurt would channel funds from his lucrative NYC opium and cocaine trafficking operation to aid the Anti-Bolshevik in their 'mission.'
It soon dawned on Ajay that he was now part of a world mired in criminal and even political intrigue. Through Kurt, Ajay met a strange woman named Shelbye who was actually a lawyer working for a rogue faction of the IRA in Belfast. Ajay started meditating on the world of intrigue his great ancestor D'Artagnan was immersed in and realized he was just like him, mired in some labyrinth of human movements. Ajay decided to make himself a vigilante, using his social connections to infiltrate the levels of Kurt's drug-ring and then to the circles of the Anti-Bolsheviks. In the process, he also began dating Shelbye.
Through Shelbye, Ajay met the leader of a special faction of ISIS called the Jihad Glove. The Jihad Glove was creating a special metaphysics model, which suggested that if the great Muslim prophet Muhammad received controversial verses of heresy from Satan in the desert (a theory purported by the censored writer Salman Rushdie!), then it was possible that the Christian Messiah Jesus Christ chose crucifixion as a form of suicide (rather than as a form of martyrdom). The Jihad Glove was led by a Muslim man named Ben Ali who sought to publish the Christian heresy model in the New Yorker (with Ajay's help!). Ajay was now immersed in politico-journalism intrigue!
Ben Ali's incendiary model of Christianity was interpreted to be an attack on Rushdie's work and therefore a new call to arms for pro-Muslims seeking to challenge Christian domination in the Western world. Ajay was right in the center of what soon became an incendiary journalism war. Ajay realized that in the modern media age, proliferation of controversy through journalism comprised a 'cultural megaphone.' The American movie star and super-celebrity Tom Cruise (star of culturally-symbolic Hollywood films such as Born on the 4th of July and Minority Report) started commenting on Ali's incendiary Christian hypothesis and how it related to his avant-garde interests in Scientology.
Ajay decided to write an article in the New Yorker about the general intrigue in modern civilization created by a melee of pedestrian traffic geared towards a democratic pulpit and its ensuing anti-Western challengers (e.g., ISIS). He related Times Square to the Colosseum of Ancient Rome and wrote about how he himself was like his ancestor D'Artagnan, a witness to various levels/realms of 'virtual civil wars.' Ajay married Shelbye and decided to retire to Switzerland and enjoy a more peaceful and calm life of human sanity. He realized he was something like Citizen Kane or James Bond. Ajay was even awarded a special 'pedestrian medallion' by President Trump!
