Good question , I looked it up. He used the US postal service to commit the crime and that makes it a federal crime. And it's definitely a crime to send pornographic materials to someone who doesn't want them. The punishments are more severe and involve federal prisons. Most likely malicious harassment from the looks of it. Also you can't buy your way out of it , you must do time in federal prison. Hope it was worth it to the idiot that did it. He may get paid back over and over in prison.
