The number of servers who make that kind of money is vanishingly small. The number of servers who would enjoy a significant increase in their quality of life with that tax break is huge.Good. Instead of carving out another exemption for another group, they should do tax reform across the board, like a flat tax with no deductions.
Additionally, we have servers here on the Las Vegas Strip who earn six figures a year and around 80% of that income is tip income. Do you think it's fair that someone who makes $120K a year should pay tax on only 20% of their income while someone working an hourly or salaried job making $60K pay it on 100% of theirs?
