Ukraine is a made-up country, created by N. Kruschev to add one more UN vote for the Soviet Union.

Parts of Ukraine contain Russian ethnic majorities, who would rather pay allegiance to Russia than Ukraine. The final settlement will undoubtedly allot some of that territory to the Russian Federation, but will keep Ukraine as a separate sovereign state.

The bigger questions are, who is going to pay for the rebuilding of Ukraine? Will its population return? How will the U.S. be compensated for its billions in support over the past couple years? Will there ever be a meaningful audit of those funds, and will the corrupt Ukraine officials be prosecuted in any meaningful way?

Let's stop the killing first, then deal with all that other shit.
