Like the Euro elites you still don't get it, years ago Russia said Ukraine in NATO is a big fat red line, they will never be in NATO in fact NATO could be out of the aggression business before long out of business period, what do you think one of the reasons for the war is?

The US is committed by treaty to the defense of Europe.

Russia can win a nuclear war with the US, but even in the best scenario it will be rather expensive (both in money and human lifes).

Of course, not. If Russia attack first, even in the worst scenario, Russia will suffer terrible, but pretty acceptable losses (twenty million killed top). Of course, nobody wants it, but much lesser we want NATO forces in Ukraine.

Russia sees NATO in Ukraine as a vital threat. It basically means that there is no way to push Russia back with something lesser.

Its a tough call for Putin. A proxy war over Ukraine is draining on Russia's resources. But not to stop NATO's expansion means Belarus could be next. The thing is NATO is NOT "expanding" by capturing countries, countries are joining NATO because they fear Russia, like Finland and Sweden just joined in 2023. Ukraine is a sovereign country and they want to belong to the EU not Russia. We'll see how this all turns out.

Britain is not a part of the EU, not anymore and it didn't join "pro-Zelenskiy league" (at least not officially)
Doesn't matter how many nukes do they have during peace time. The real questions are:
1. How many nukes will survive first Russian counter-force strike? (lesser than 100).
2. How many will be able to start and fly? (the recent two British launches failed)
3. How many will be able to penetrate Russian ABD? (It depends, but Moscow ABD will be able a intercept at least one hundred of them).
4. How many Russians will be killed? (If Russia strikes first, Russia has both strategic and tactical alert, its population is partly evacuated and partly sheltered).
5. Will the Russians consider those numbers as "unacceptable" or "acceptable" (but "pissing off enough to genocide 90% of British and French populations")? (Given the nature of the threat - Russia consider its losses in WW2 as "acceptable").
6. And, after counting all factors, we see, that those 500 nukes transforms in the anemic "less than one million killed Russian civilians"

1. Britain just said that they would put "peacekeepers" in Ukraine if a ceasefire and peace deal is negotiated.

2. War gaming a nuclear first strike is a very bad idea. Nothing ever happens as planned. Besides, we don't want the US dragged into a nuclear war because of NATO commitments.

3. I'm hearing different things about Putin's "peace deal".
a) Are peacekeepers allowed in Ukraine, such as French, British, and other EU countries, but NOT under a NATO flag?
b) Either Putin keeps all the territory he occupies, or he just keeps Crimea & Donbas?
c) Who keeps Kursk?
d) Ukraine will insist on EU membership, but not NATO membership
e) No offensive missiles allowed in Ukraine seems like an obvious stipulation.
f) Any other Putin stipulations that we may not have heard?
