The average person will spend about one-third of their earnings on taxes, according to the study, which is based on the 2019 Consumer Expenditure Report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The analysis extrapolates tax rates that were then in effect out over an 18- to 79-year lifespan. The average American will spend more than $500,000....unless you live in one of those "special" states. Keep in mind these number are before Uncle Joe works his "magic".

The payments, which aren’t adjusted for inflation, could be even higher if President Joe Biden’s proposed tax increases get approved by Congress. He’s also pressing for significant relief for lower-income and middle-class families, including an extended, stepped up child tax credit.

Most of the lifetime tax bill -- nearly 65% -- is in the form of state and federal levies on income. Auto taxes cost an average of $29,521 over the years. Californians and New Yorkers will pay the most in sales taxes, roughly $40,000, over their lifetimes.

You have one of the highest standards of living in the world. Do you think that living in a first world country is free. Just like condo fees taxes or your share of the cost of running the country.

It will vary from year to year depending upon GDP growth but the combined (Fed, State, Local) cost of government in the US is about 40% of GDP. We all pay that cost directly or indirectly.

When these stupid Moon Bats tell you that we need to raise taxes even more then tell them that they are idiots.

As long as big corporation such as Amazon don't have to pay their share in taxes, the repub party will be happy. You will make up the difference. As a matter of fact, the repub party wanted to increase gas taxes in order to pay for the infrastructures bill. That is how much the repub party cares about the middle class.

Dang, a business genius. Let's say, just for fun. a company like Amazon closes it's doors. Simple question, will Federal/State/Local taxes bring in more money or a lot less money?
