Zone1 "Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses"

But there is a division now. That’s the division Jesus brought.
No. The division was created by Rome and Pauls replacement theology perpetuated by the church. Even now to many Jewish people Jesus is irrelevant. He was a low level criminal and sinner, a mentally ill drunk of no account.

But now, things have changed.

Nope. The division was created after Christ rose from the dead and Christians began worshipping Jesus as God.

You imagine there is some sort of Jewish/Christian rivalry. Nothing could be further from the truth. Jewish people never gave a shit about what Christians believe or what the Gospels reported about what Jesus was teaching.

But now, things have changed.

Nope. Just a division. Which was created by Jesus.

Jesus said; "For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, and a man’s enemies will be living under his own roof."

Sorry. You are making things up. There is nothing about Christian or Jew there. Christianity didn't even exist.

As Jesus said; "For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law, and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household."

Sorry. You are making things up. There is nothing about Christian or Jew there. Christianity didn't even exist.
And he did. He divided Christians from Jews.

It’s you who is the one making up stuff.

No, Jesus created a division between Jewish beliefs, just like there is division between Catholic and Protestant beliefs, that Rome usurped and perverted in 325CE creating the Antichrist, in the image and likeness of Mithras, a counterfeit Jesus, a mangod that has marked your forehead with satans signature, a giant black thumbprint.

To many Jews Jesus was and is irrelevant because of the irrational and degrading things Christians say and do.

There is no rivalry except in your deluded imagination.

Jesus created the division between Christianity and Judaism and this is the division Jesus was talking about.

No.

The division was between Jewish people who took the law literally according to the teaching of the talmud, what Jesus called the traditions of men, and Jewish people who accepted his revelation that there was a deeper more rational WAY to understand and comply with Mosaic law that reflects wisdom worthy of a loving and benevolent God, the same WAY to follow the Law that was lost to time after the death of Moses as he said would happen.

The Catholic Church teaches that the division Jesus created was between those who accept his radical message and those who reject it.

Jesus's teachings act as a "sword," not to incite physical violence, but to cut through worldly loyalties and force a choice for or against him.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains that this division arises from the Gospel's uncompromising call for total allegiance to Christ, which can disrupt existing social structures and relationships.

The sword of division
The Catholic Church interprets Jesus's words about bringing division, found in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke, within this context. For example, Matthew 10:34-36 states that Jesus came "not to bring peace, but a sword" and to set family members against one another. The "sword" is seen as a symbol for the Word of God, which in Hebrews 4:12 is described as "sharper than any two-edged sword". It divides truth from falsehood and requires a choice. Jesus's message requires that love for God surpasses love for family, and the resulting divisions are a painful consequence of prioritizing one's relationship with God.

Peace with God versus worldly peace
While Jesus is called the "Prince of Peace," Catholic teaching distinguishes this from a worldly absence of conflict. Jesus's mission disrupts the "false peace" of a world that tolerates sin. Choosing to follow the Gospel can lead to conflict with those who tolerate or engage in sinful behavior. However, a follower of Christ can still experience inner peace despite external turmoil caused by their commitment to faith. Universal peace will only be fully realized at Christ's Second Coming.

The cost of discipleship
The division Jesus spoke of highlights the personal cost of discipleship. Disciples are called to choose loyalty to Christ above all else, even when facing pressure from family or society to compromise their faith. Christians should expect opposition and rejection from those closest to them as a result of this decision, seeing it as the "cross" they are called to bear.

Jesus's teachings act as a "sword,"
No. The sword that Jesus said he came to bring is a curse under the appearance of a cup of wine.

You might not realize this but to Jesus, his disciples, followers, and the unknown authors of the Gospels who witnessed the destruction of Judea, the temple, their way of life, and the enslavement, exile, and ruthless slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent Jewish men women and children "the nations" were the enemy.

"I have not come to bring peace but a sword."

"From his mouth there went a sharp sword with which to smite the nations."

"Take, from my hand, this cup of fiery wine and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it. When they have drunk it THEY WILL VOMIT AND GO MAD, SUCH IS THE SWORD THAT I AM SENDING AMONG THEM"

Take this cup of wine and drink it, all of you. This is my blood, the blood of the covenant.

"He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword."

Just art thou, in these thy judgments, thou Holy One who art and wast; for they shed the blood of thy people and thy prophets and thou has given them blood to drink.

Enjoy!

I realize the division Jesus created was between Judaism and Christianity.

Excellent book. Written by a dedicated and faithful man who did the best anyone could do before the parousia.
He didn’t secularize Jesus as you do.

I realize the division Jesus created was between Judaism and Christianity.
I realize that you have been cursed by the sword, ruthlessly slaughtered by the Holy One of God.

He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword.

"He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword."
The sword Jesus brought was to divide those who loved him from the ones who don’t.

No, that makes no sense. its says in the Bible that "the sword" is a curse under the appearance of a cup of wine.

"Take, from my hand, this cup of fiery wine and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it. When they have drunk it THEY WILL VOMIT AND GO MAD, SUCH IS THE SWORD THAT I AM SENDING AMONG THEM"

No its says clearly in the Bible that "the sword" is a curse under the appearance of a cup of wine.

"Take, from my hand, this cup of fiery wine and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it. When they have drunk it THEY WILL VOMIT AND GO MAD, SUCH IS THE SWORD THAT I AM SENDING AMONG THEM"
More mixing and matching.

I don’t need pretzel logic for my point. Jesus divided Christian’s from Jews.

Jesus divided Christian’s from Jews.
Jesus divided sheep from goats, the living from the dead. You are an idolator. You have your reward already.

He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword.

Seriously.

Enjoy your delusions. The rest of your time in the realm of the dead won't be any worse than it aways has been.

We're all sinners and that's why we all need Jesus. Jesus came to save ALL people, especially sinners like you and me.

not true the heavenly goal given to a&e for their journey and self determination is to triumph over evil and sin no more for them to be judged and admitted to the everlasting when accomplished.

the 1st century events is the repudiation of judaism, false commandments et al there is no other absolution from accountability, sinning for anyone including desert dwellers by any personage during that time - given or implied.
